What are the ways you are learning the various Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations that regulate your activities and your institution?
The calendar reminder is a great way to not miss our on any changes. I will definately implement this practice.

Not at all. You do need to understand the spirit and the requirements of the regulations. The numbers are there for a reference.

Do I need to be able to re-call the statues and codes by it's number? Or is being aware of the regulations sufficient?
Shana, good point! With so many updates, having an e-binder is a good idea. And then maybe printing the updates every 6 months could save on a lot of paper.

Setting reminders to check on changes is vital. Regs change so often and we are responsible for knowing them.

I appreciate all of the suggestions I am reading on this site. I do agree that is our responsibility to stay up to date. I will focus on setting calendar reminders to help stay up to date.
Checking the statues, rules, and regulations is critical. It is important to set up a calendar reminder so that you do not forget. I set up a calendar reminder and a follow up reminder in the event that I do not check with the first reminder.

That is an excellent practice to have. Some people place it on the calendar every month in Outlook or other program to remind them to check the website.

CIE website is the best place to check for updates from the commission. They publish a newsletter and will provide links for valuable information to other agencies.
