Print out Florida Statutes every year and keep them available for staff

The Commission for Independent Education (CIE) is an excellent website to keep people informed and up-to-date about the various Florida Statutes and Rules. It is essential that the institution has complied with all appropriate rules and statutes. The module also provided valuable information that I can use as reference when questions arise.

Rick,

Excellent! You are on a pathway of fully immersing yourself in learning.

Jamye,

I like having both formats available. The hardcopy where I can highlight or write notes in the margins and then the electronic searchable format.

Patty Aronoff

Debbie,
The CIE website is the est place to start. They also have links to other important websites.

Patty Aronoff

Sonya,
Binders are a great way to house information. Tailor it to your specific needs.

Patty Aronoff

urania,
Information sharing is very important to remain compliant. Keep up the good work!

Sean,
Reading the catalog is so important. I am still amazed when I hear an employee has not read the catalog.

I have already engaged in conversation with the school's Director, who has been here many years and familiar with Fla Statutes pertaining to our school, read over our enrollment form, including all terms and conditions expressed; also, read application form as to terms and conditions. Also, re-reading all forms printed from this course . I want to be sure I understand all documents presented to the students prior to admission .

The institution has a binder of the statues, what I cannot find I look up on the Florida Board of Education Website where I print my own copy for my binder or Google.

By up dateing my knowdedge from the proper websites

Reading through the documents and keeping them in a binder for easy reference.

Various ways that we learn the Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations are by internent. Even though we have an office manager to look up all the new information we still encourage employees to check monthly on the differant websites and to share with everyone what is going on to any changes so we can update our resource book as well.

I find reading the institution catalogue works for understanding what is and is not needed for a student; and what is required for them to be enrolled.

Nicole,
You can also watch the CIE website through their link on the web. Check under the tab for Agenda information and on the day of the meeting, there will be a link to the webcast.

Phillis,

It is really amazing when you go through that exercise. Many times staff just assumes and has not kept up with the catalog. This can create a very bad situation.

Patty Aronoff

The ways I am learning the Florida Statutes and Regulations are by reviewing the Florida Department of Education website. I regularly attend staff and faculty meetings to discuss updates as well.

Tiffany,
Make sure to check out any ther regulatory agencies that may oversee your school as well.

Patty Aronoff

Catherine,

Excellent...keep yourself current and tilde the resources available to you.

Patty Aronoff

Julia,

Continue to seek an answer to your question. It is better to have an answer than to guess.
