Those Statutes, Rules, and Regulations!
What are the ways you are learning the various Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations that regulate your activities and your institution?
This course has been a great starting point for me by pointing out the resoruces available through Florida's Department of Education and Commission for Independent schools. I feel bad for the poor trees if I try to print all this information so I am instead saving it all to a Word document that I can highlight and add notes to.
Alfonso,
The Commission's website will provide you valuable information. Check out their monthly newsletter and their annual report that comes out each July.

Esme,
Following in the rules with your enrollment at hand can give you further introspection into the reasoning behind the details of your enrollment agreement.

I am learning about the statutes, rules and regulations in various resources such as the training information provided by the institution, the student catalog and the commissions website.
Reading the commission's enrollment agreemet requrements and the college's enrolllment agreement
Maria ,
Excellent! You must first understand the regulations and then apply them in the spirit of the law.

This course has been the first step to learn about Florida Statutes, Rules and Regulation to help me in my new position as Admissions Representative.
Leila,
Absolutely! You can catch the Commission meetings through their web link under genda information. They are very informative.
Patty Aronoff
Juan,
The newsletter is produced monthly. There is a link on the CIE website for the current and past editions.
Patty Aronoff
Stephen,
The websites are very helpful. Changes can happen anytime during the year so keeping informed takes regular attention.

Through the CM201 online course and reading all of the documents recommended. I think it is also important to attend professional conferences and meetings related to the Admissions area and to check for updates on the USDE and the Commission's websites.
I definitively will say the webpage is the best way. It's fast, It's accurate and you may have access virtually anywhere, anytime. I think DoE should have a quarter newsletter to keep licensed schools up-to-date info, changes, etc. If any resource is available please help me to get it.
So much information is online. This class has really compiled much of information, which is very helpful. The commission website is also helpful. Though you must check and recheck the information often, as it changes, you want to keep compliant.
Kristeen ,
It is a constant process. We need to always be learning and seeking new avenues for keeping current in not only regulations but also trends in our sector.

Zachary,
The rules protect the students but they also protect the school. Strict adherence to the rules protect both parties.
Patty Aronoff
Elizabeth,
Look out to the CIE website for information regarding trends in education and upcoming rule changes.
Patty Aronoff
Kevin,
Reviewing your documents while reading the rules brings a deeper understanding and a good task to determine compliance.
