Keeping Up-to-Date
What are your plans to add any missing information and to keep up-to-date with any changes made?
Walter,
Communication is key, whether it's formal or informal. The more we were together the better service we will provide to our students.
Patty Aronoff
Dwight,
Keep the conversation going! It is important to ask questions and do your own research.
Patty Aronoff
Aubrey,
Always go to the first source. This would be the commission for independent education and they will direct you to reliable sites.
Patty Aronoff
Amethyst,
Procrastination can be a horrible enemy. We must get into a routine and ensure that we are at the top of our game.
Patty Aronoff
Lori ,
Meetings are important part of the day. They provide us the opportunity to discuss changes and ensure that everyone is knowledgeable.
Patty Aronoff
To continually have meetings with other departments, my direct manager, and even with my staff while we simply sit and chat in our offices. Making sure that I am on the same page for a cross discipline/cross curricular work atmosphere is very important as changes in one department, (though they may not affect me) could have an affect on the students I work with and support.
In order to stay current, I will check with my managers about any changes in the institution on a weekly basis.
I'm taking this course in order to work with an online school that will be primarily located in Florida. Setting up regular intervals in which to correspond electronically with other staff members will be the most efficient way in which to stay up-to-date with the schools changes and information, and also making sure to regularly check online for changes to any statutes and rules that will apply to the school and my position there as well. It's a lot of planning and will likely take up a lot of time, but with all the specific rules and regulations, it's better to take time to stay on top of things than to lapse and end up with the wrong information on your hands.
Weekly meeting with our team, discuss any changes, and update the information keeping everyone update and on the same page.
How do we know which sources we can trust when keeping up to date with current laws and statutes?
MAY,
The classroom is the best area to feel the student experience. When you sit in the classroom you see the culture, the instructor, and learning.
Patty Aronoff
You have to find the time to visit the classroom because it is the only way to know atmosphere and to see what you are selling
Kayla,
That is one of my most favorite things to do. It's a way to connect with the students and the instructors while learning more about our program.
Patty Aronoff
Sitting in on classes is not only such a great way to gain more perspective but can also be so much fun as well! You can gain such an understanding of where the students and teachers are coming from.
Jeanlu,
Meetings are a necessity . Often times if we do not meet we're not getting the correct information. It is time well spent.
Patty Aronoff
Freddy,
It is a great investment of time. You are better able to understand the product that you discuss with your perspective student by investing time in learning more about it
Patty Aronoff
Mario ,
That's a great idea! Often times the website is the first exposure to your school by the student.
Patty Aronoff
Joann,
Me too! I always learn something when I sit in the class. It's a great experience.
Patty Aronoff
I think it is very important to keep up to date with all of the people that are involved with students. That is why I think that weekly meetings help everyone to stay abreast of what of what is going on.
