I am being proactive and preparing with needed documents for students before i interview them
Dennis,
Great ideas! The more you become involved with what goes on on the academic side of the house, you will be able to tie the information to the student experience.you

sit in a class to understand what and how programs are taught, speak with instructors and students. meet with dean of education and career services director.
Leslie,
It is important to see the materials that our prospective students see through our marketing channels. Knowing the initial draw to your school is very helpful in the interview process.
Patty Aronoff
Make sure I have a copy of all advertising currently in use. I will also conduct quarterly marketing meetings with our marketing dept.
Shawn,
Even just walking the halls around the classrooms you get a sense of what is going on. You could listen for a few moments, pause and talk to students during break to get a feel of the campus culture.
Patty Aronoff
Even if unable to sit in on classes at the moment, I find it helpful take a few minutes here and there to talk with the students for feedback, and even the instructors. Still, if I cannot do it for the moment, I will do it asap. I find it difficult to fully fulfill my obligations to the student without the experience.
Victoria ,
I am sure it is challenging! Being in the classroom gives you the opportunity to see first hand the excitement and learning the students experience.
Patty Aronoff
Melissa,
We need to be communicative and responsive to our students. You never know when they may bring you referrals.
Patty Aronoff
Being the only admissions person makes it challenging to find the time but once you in the classroom, the experience is awesome. The interactions between the teacher and the students. You can feel the energy!
I make sure I stay in contact with each department at the schoolo often. Rules and regulations can change and I like to also stay up on student events
Aristides,
Interest and being proactive shows that you care about delivering the best possible information.
Patty Aronoff
Andrew,
Very true! If we do not make that effort, we risk providing inaccurate or misleading information.

Keeping up to date with changes in your school and regulation is very important and is a great way to show you are a professional, not just a regular joe. Always being involved in meetings and discussion will help but also just find time to pick your superiors brain from time to time will help out keeping up todate with things. Speaking to other staff members around the school to know how things are running in the class which is good to know as a rep.
Keeping up to date is key in providing students with the best possible information. Whether is be in the courses, school changes, or even changes in the admissions process.
alexandra,
Joining the class is a great experience for admissions. You get first-hand knowledge of the student experience and learn something in the meantime.
Patty Aronoff
alexandra,
They speak from their heart. That is the best advertisement to have one that comes without reservation and without a script.
Patty Aronoff
Joining a class to see what the students would be going through would give you the upper hand when students are signing and they have questions, you can back up your knowledge with experience, which is something that cant be taught..
i like this idea, of asking the students, it would be the third party point of view, and of coarse its always great to hear an alumni talking blessings of a school. Word of mouth is some of the best advertisement, and if we can be a "fly on the wall" and finding out how the students feel about the program can only better future students experience.
Anthony,
Websites provide you up to date information regarding regulations in Florida and for nonpublic postsecondary schools.
