Admissions meetings, staff meetings, and campus wide meetings
We have weekly meetings at a minimum and conduct conference calls and other meetings as needed when new procedures are implemented. Training never stops and learning is a daily event. Keeping updated and current on all procedures and changes makes an effective workforce.
Admissions representatives in our school attend courses like this one, also we are require to attend internal seminars from my institution, this happens once every two –three months so all the department can be in tune with each other. That way we keep the information up dated.

Every week our entire administrative staff meets to discuss news and events within our department, ask questions to other departments, and work together to meet each department's needs as necessary. It's a great way to stay abreast of what's going on both with the business side of the organization and with the student side.
Our school runs under a Total Quality Management (TQM) process. Therefore our most important recurring meetings are our Program After Action Meetings with Program Grads. This allows us to consider our customer’s evaluation of our training and facilities in all of our other decision meetings.
We have weekly admissions meetings where we cover policies and procedures, training, and activity for the week. Some weeks we have program directors in to explain changes in their programs as well as what students are doing in and out of the classroom.

In addition we also have courses to learn more details about our job, about new programs or new software.

We are changing lives and our prospective students rely on the admissions representatives for a wealth of information.

Excellent strategy. New situations arise and the ability to share these experiences keeps everyone learning.

We hold weekly staff meetings to talk about what students are looking for and to just make sure we're all on the same page!

John,
Do you have opportunities to share your experiences with others? It becomes a learning experience when everyone discusses these outcomes.

Do you have an opportunity to share your admissions experiences with others?
At my institution we have several meetings throughout the week. We have a weekly team meeting where all of the admissions reps and Director discuss the weeks activity and any changes as well. We also have a weekly meeting to discuss all of our future students and or any concerns they may have. In addition to that our Director also has daily meetings with us individually to discuss any changes or any training opportunities.
As the Director of Admissions, I typically attend all school meetings. I really learn the most from the Educational Meetings. I then, take that career and program info back to my staff and staff.
