Daniel,
Great advice and practice!

There are a lot of webpages to look up salaries. There is no way that I can know all the salaries from all emploeyers out there, not even in the neighborhood of the school.
But if you have to talk about salarywith your prospect, just show them what you find on the webpages . This way, you get an idea about the salary range, but the numbers did not come from you. You cannot guarantee a cetain income or anything else. At the end, it is the student who graduates because he/she was attending classes and was doing good on tests. And because he/she graduates, it's more likely that she will get a job.

I am affected by the requirements because I need to stay on top of all the rules and regulations. I have to make sure that I know what is going on internal (within the school) but also external (outside of the school), to make sure, the students get the whole picture and all the information they need, deserve and got to know.

I have to make sure I got a copy of our school catalog in my desk (and use it on a daily basis to know what is in there!).

Corlee,
Don't forget that the Bureau of Labor Statistics provides national averages and that local markets may not match. Encourage students to do some of their own research.

Where salary info is concerned, I refer students to BLS for that info...can't really go wrong with that. After all, the federal government says it, not I!

we need to be careful to ensure our actual operating practices do not conflict with ice requirements. example- so even if we know salary ranges for exiting graduates we dot imply this is a certainty or guarantee

Jay,
Regulatory compliance not only protects the students but also the institution. Good thoughts..

I must reamain current with CIE requirements in order to be in compliance and to do the best job I can in serving the students well while upholding the job requirements of my institution.

Corlee,
Excellent advice. Compliance is key and providing an honest delivery of information is the first step.

Eduardo,
You bring an important point. Respect has to be earned. For your students, this is a life changing decision and we need to be compliant and all information correctly shared.

Vicki,
You are correct! Keeping up with the regulatory knowledge takes effort and we must do so in order to remain compliant.

Miriam,
I agree. The regs are to protect the student and compliance is key.

Vicki,
The Commission for Independent Educaton is a consumer protection agency and is there to assist you. Staff is willing to take time and answer any questions you have in dealing with admissions or with students.

The requirements make me very cognicent of the fact that I must do my job in the most ethical and knowledgable way. They also drive home the need to stay on top of rules, regulations and to continually increase my job knowledge.

The requirements help us to provide guidance to prospective student about the programs, costs, rates of employability, retention, degree, financial and phisical facilities.
Follow instructuion and requires ensure to do our job , to receive our students respect, the scholl's educational philosophy, goals , and objectives.

They are there for the protection of the prospective students. It is of utmost importance to be on top of any new rules and regulations.

The Regulatory Requirements have to be followed in order to be in compliance with the statutes.

By not following them the institution breaks the regulations established.

It is of vital importance to read, learn and apply them.

We as Admissions Representatives for our institution must uphold the highest moral and ethical standards. We represent an institution of higher learning. Not only is compliance a requirement it is a guide. We must be honest and truthful at all times fully disclosing everything up front to the potential student. We must keep up to date on all regulations. The Commission for Independent Education does maintain high standards and it is there for the protection of all prospective students and their families.

Betsy,
You are on target! Compliance is key as well as well informed students.

The regulations ensure that we remain compliant with the rules created to protect the consumer against misinformation. They also ensure that the representatives of the institution are well-informed when speaking to prospective students so they can make an informed decision.
