Eric:

I would first bring any potential discrepancies to the attention of your supervisor. However, if you believe that there are serious issues or potential state rules violations that are occurring and are not being addressed, you can forward your concern to the State Board of Career Colleges and Schools for further review.

At my particular institution new hires have been provided the opportunity to engage in an orientation that has conveyed information on the organization's position on the topics covered thus far. The OACCS training has provided specifics about rules and regulations, which has unveiled my organizations alignment to state rules and regulations.

What should occur if any training agent acknowlegdes that thier organization is not in compliance with state rules and regulations?

John I stay current with all the rules and regulations in the state that I work out of...I used to be in the mortgage business and I know how often rules and regs change, so in order for me to remain compliant I stay current with the laws of the state!

Edward:

I would say generally yes that a student should be permitted to inquire about placement and graduation information even after they have enrolled. Since schools must disclose this information to prospective students as part of the enrollment process, I'm not sure what rationale a school would have for not disclosing the same infromation to current students.

This training module is a good start in learning the various regulations in place for us as representatives. Also, my management team continually alerts us to changes in the regulations so we may review and update our materials.

I have printed of the policies and each day I am reviewing them.

I agree, using the catalog, referencing my binder, and asking as many questions as possible.

I found the most helpful way to learn the various rules is to read my school's catalog. I've also read over the recruitment rules/laws. I have copies of both in my binder.

I am learning the various rules that regulate my activities and those of my institution by studying websites of the OACCS and State Board of Career Colleges and Schools. I am also reading through my school's catalog to become better knowledged.

Shouldn't a newly enrolled student be permitted to call the placement office for information regarding graduation and placement rates after enrollment? I realize this is information that needs to be dictated to the student prior to enrollment, but thought a student should be allowed to inquire after enrollment as well.

A great way for me to keep up-to-date with new rules and regulations is by checking our catalog. Our catalog is online so that it can be updated whenever necessary and on a timely basis. I also like to occasionally seek out academic affairs and directors to ensure that I am on top of every new change at my school.

The employee portal and school website are great tools for obtaining information regarding regulatory Rules. The information is current and continually upated. Catalogs are a convenient tool as well but it is important to pay attention to updates as they become available.

Through online assessments and reading so far.

I learned this information from orientation, this online course and through my training at my school.

checking the regulations on line, talking with the seasoned reps, and asking questions of my supervisor

This has been one of the things that has been at the highest importance at our university. We have weekly meetings discussing the rules and regulations for our school.

Our reps also shadow people in other departments along with observing in the classroom. It is a great way to increase product knowledge, confidence, and their own belief in what they are representing.

Some ways that I learn more about the rules are: Looking at the Catalog and enrollment agreement when changes are made to them or minimally on a bi-annual basis, and comparing it to the Ohio website is helpful. In addition; reviewing internal memo's from our director of admissions, campus leadership, and then discussing them with my supervisor are ways to keep attune to the various rules that regulate my activities as an Agent.

Thank you for posting that helpful link

We do this as well. I check myself on the website for updates, disuss any new changes with my supervisor, and we go over any new changes as an admissions team in our weekly meeting.

We have intense training on FERPA and other rules that we must follow.
