I would rate my knowledge about my institution high. I am involved in many things that include other departments. We all communicate on a regular basis via emails, memos and meetings.
I think knowing your orgnaization, marketing strategies, and programs are a key to being a successful agent. Knowledge is Power.....without it you will only be a so so agent, if you make it at all.
I would rate my personal knowledge about my school high, but that is partially because that is the type of person I am. I really like to know and understand the ins and outs of my workplace. It is great that this information helps me when talking with prospective students, but I probably would have learned it anyway.
I do think that the best way to gain information about your school is through interviews and observations, so anytime that you can visit the various departments at your school will help build your knowledge!
I would consider myself very knowledgeable about my institution. This knowledge comes from the fact that I am working on an advanced degree while working for the school. I have found that upon enrolling, and going through the process, I have been able to provide much needed insight to the potential students. This is immeasurable in value.
Learning is a continual process. I try to find out something new about my school everyday because it enriches the information that I can give to potential students. By having an attitude such as this, I believe that I know a lot about my school, but I do not belive that I know everything there is to know.
One other key component to being agents of our schools is that we cannot be afraid to ask questions. As Mark pointed out, students can be a valuable resource. Teachers, facilities managers, mailroom employees, and other staff members can also be valuable resources. Do not be afraid to ask these people about what the goings on at your school are because they may be able to provide you additional insight into something that you may not have known before.
I rate my knowledge high. Due to the nature of our schooling, an extensive background check is required by our applicants. There is a wide range things which may disqualify a person from being accepted to school. I've done seminars with our employers and am constantly in touch with our safety director and placement director about any changes in rules and regulations. The more we know, the more fairly we can treat out stdents. We take it very seriously that if we accept a person's application, that they will be employable in that industry.
We can never take a position that we know all we need to know. School is fluid and dynamic things change. spend time at your school get to know some of the kids at the school kids are a great resource the will tell you things that you may not want to hear. Thats how to improve your school.
I feel like having the Resource Notebook and trainings helps me to stay fresh on my knowledge about the institution and all the regulations/rules.
I'm with you on that. I always find time to visit with other staff members and to ask what is new.
I rate my knowledge at a fairly high level. We have daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly tranings. These tranings consist of a variety of topics from FAQ's, 6 E's, Interview, Overcoming obstacles, organizational layout of school, product knowledge, etc. We are always kept up to date about different programs, accreditions, media coverage, et. My school keeps me very well informed.
Im a new hire and my knowledge is very general. However I have been improving my knowledge and plan to continue to improve my knowledge to be an effective rep.
I rate my knowledge quite high. I have been with the organization for some 15+ years. I do visit the campus several times each year, and I am never afraid to call and even ask the most trivial of questions. I do my best to stay ontop of what is going on. I also visit our website quite frequently to be sure that I am accurate in what I present to students and families. Integrity is very important and I strive to tell it like it is. The best way to do this is to know your product and understand it is right for some and wrong for others.
I feel my knowledge level is high regarding our program but there always is something new to learn!
All of our departments get together for what we call "Total Quality Management" meetings every (2) weeks to ensure that we all are aware of what each department is doing. We discuss "quick fixes" which are easy ways we can improve and also more, long-term plans for improvement, with positive student outcome and retention being our goal!
I've been an Admissions Rep for maybe a couple of months, so would rate my knowledge as moderate. I have been impressed with how much energy and effort my school puts into educating its Admission team.
I've been employed here over three years and I feel that I am well equipt with knowledge about the school.
I am definitely still in the learning process because I was only hired a few weeks ago, however I have attended multiple meetings that we arrange to keep us updated with new policies or information to make sure our Team is all on the same page. I would say that once I am up in running, I will have a high knowledge about our institution.
I rate my knowledge very high. I like to keep up on everything that is goign on. Involved in every meeting ask questions that i don't understand. The more I know the better i can assist my student. Always in the process of learning something new.
I would rate my knowledge about my institution very high. I am the kind of person who asks questions if I have them. The communication between departments here is pretty seamless and we are constantly updating each other.
I rate my knowledge about my institution very high. My supervisor is awesome i remember for the first three weeks of employment all he wanted me to do was y-connect and read the employee handbook. And when my forth week finally arrived he gave me my a copy of Jack Welch book Winning and encouraged me to read that and know who Jack welch is. Thanks Kevan
