If I was to rate my knowledge currently on a scale from 1-10 it would be about a 3.
Melissa,
Glad to hear you are taking steps to feel more confident with your role as an agent.
Adriane,
Having actually been a student at the school prior to working as an agent, you will be able to provide valuable insight to prospective students.
Deborah,
Glad to hear that you have such a good working relationship with others at your school.
Tiffany,
You will become more comfortable with each day of experience.
I feel as though I am in the minority when it comes to this question. I am a new hire and I would rate my knowledge of my institution as growing. I have obviously done my background research on the institution but I have not yet had a chance to get more into depth. I have already read through our enrollment agreement, school catalog, and polices and procedures. I was also planning on talking to faculty and other staff members, but I really had not thought of sitting in on a class. I think it is a great idea, and plan on doing so soon. Are there any other ideas people may have used besides what was mention in the 'study' materials?
Although when I first started with my institution, the only information/knowledge that I had was of what was shared on the college website; now that I have been with them for a month, I now feel extremely confident that I have a high level of knowledge about my institution.
I would rate my knowledge extremely high. I did spend alot of time at my initial higher and do go back and reviews my manuels often. When in doubt, I do not hesitate to ask advice/answers.
Knowledge about your school is an ongoing process. it never ends because things are always changing
I definitely still have a lot to learn.
I'm a new hire so I'm still learning but everyday I feel more confident as I study the materials I've collected about my institution.
I would rate my knowledge as a 9 only because learning is continuous. We receive updates on programs and new policies from our corporate office and have weekly staff meetings to keep us updated on changes. This allows us to be aware of what is coming so we are giving accurate information to potential students.
On a scale of 1-10 I would rate my knowledge of my institution a 10. As addmisions reps my school keeps us informed on what each department is responsible for. We have monthly all staff meetings that keep us uptodate in ref to our campus.
I rate my knowledge as high. I have the advantage of having been a student of the university prior to being an employee. As a student I knew I would hold the university to the highest of standards because it was the institution I chose for myself. As an employee I have to make those same high standards that I expected to all of my students. I keep my information updated on the programs that are available and what if any changes have occurred. It is the responsibility of the staff to meet the students’ needs and to answer their questions.
I feel sufficient with the knowledge obtained. My organization keeps me updated and informed.
I would rate my knowledge about my instution as very high. I am lucky to have a director who knows the importance of training and exposure to all facets of the organization. I have unlimited access to faculty and staff, including Placement Services and the Marketing Director. I am also included in all the planning meetings as well as program updates. Workshops and additional training is available to me as well, and the director himself is always just a call away to clarify any questions that I might have.
I rate my knowlege high. We have training sessions and updates to keep the reps updated on information that is crucial and instrumental to giving prospective students current information about our institution.
I have to agree with you Tiffany. I have only been a representive for about two months, but everyday I learn more and more information.
I feel I know my school and it's programs and requirements as well as anyone here however learning is always an ongoing process.
Since my first day, I am learning more and more pertinent information about my school. At this point I rate my knowledge at a 6 out of 10, but is growing each day.
