Interesting approach, Rachel and very creative. How does this work for you?

It’s always important to stay positive when leaving a message but not giving too much information either. Less is always more! For example: I found some exciting news about your application I received this week. Can you please call me back ASAP so we can further discuss your opportunities at Berkeley College?

Thank you so much Dr. Norris. I am going to be more cognizant of those tweaks.

Sometimes it's just the simple tweaks that can help you reach just one more person. Continued success, Nina!

Hi Dr. Norris! Thank you. To be honest with you, the return rate for the voice messages I have left are very small compared to the number of messages I have left. As your module taught me, it's all about the 4 Cs and ensuring that's what's coming across through the voice messages I'm leaving.

Very creative! I believe any message that breaks from the normal, everyday and boring has a better chance of being listened to. How do your messages work for you?

I have left voice messages for students stating: Hi Joneses, I don't want you to miss this opportunity to change your situation, give me a call at...! Or I have stated, you inquired about this program a few months ago and I know you're ready to get the ball rolling!

The sample call mentioned scholarship available. I liked that one. However, in these troubling times, we do not allow the mention of financial aid by our reps. This focus will now need to be on the person's personal needs and how the college may met that need. Maybe . . . we want to offer you the best customer service . . . approach?

Love your enthusiasm, Jessica! Utilizing scholarship opportunities and tying in the benefits of what a college degree can do for the student are great approaches. Take it a step further and personalize those opportunities, based on what you know about the student, to demonstrate your commitment to assisting the student achieve his/her goals. Keep up the good work.

I always remain very enthusiastic when leaving voicemails for my students or prospects. I try to intrigue them with unique scholarship opportunities or by referring to their endless future opportunities with a college degree on hand.

Another great response, Peter! How does this approach work for you?

I take a very positive and excited approach when I leave messages. I use words like opportunities and advantages to catch the listeners attention. Sometimes I leave message short messages that go something like " Hey Laura, it's Pete at "..." I have great news for you call me at "###" when you get this message."
