The information is available on-line as well as through e-mails. Students can call and get the information as well. We have a computer system that students can log into to see specifics about all billing amounts.
Currently my institution has a number of different ways in which we provide students with the required information. The first and I think most important aspect is that all of the employees are held accountable and are always made aware of what we can or can not say to students. We have always been provided with proper information in order to ensure that we are providing our students with proper information and not misleading them at any point. We also have emails that are sent out to students to provide them with proper information on their next steps. These emails are listed as advertisments and also provide the students with the proper information on how to opt out of these emails. Our financial aid sites provide all of our prospective and currently enrolled students with all of the costs that they may endure during their time with us and the student also has full access to their account and can always see any charges made to their account or any information that might be going on with their account.
At our institution, all of our enrollment paperwork is completed by the student electronically, and the forms are set up to include all consumer disclosures prior to the student signing the contract. Our system has a computer pad that they actually sign to acknowledge each form. They can not move on to the next form until signing the previous one. This ensures that all information is always distributed to the student before they commit to attending. Once all paperwork is submitted electronically, the student receives a printed hard copy for their own record.
Yes it absolutely does, in our institution because of the electronic process in place, you can't enroll without signing off on all required predisclosure. The system does not let you move on or finalize an enrollment agreement.
Toni,
WOW! Technology is great and make life and documentation so easy.

Our Insttution has put in place an electronic process that assures all required disclosure information is current. There is no paper all, disclosure reqiurments are electronically signed off by the prospective student and then copies are printed for their manual records.
Timothy,
Thank you for sharing your disclosure information with the group. Many institutions are also using thumb drives and cd's to share their information. Food for thought.
Cindy Bryant
two ways We have the disclosures on our website, as well as send them home with a folder of information when they interview that includes the disclosure
Our college has the appropriate disclosures on the website. Also the application process contains the important disclosures as well.
Disclosures are discussed with the student, if the students wish to discuss them at any time during the admissions process. In addition to the materials on the website.
As they go through the application process the policies and disclosures can be accessed through the handbook on the website, and each student receives links to our online catalog and handbook
Mindy,
It seems that your school has addressed every area to ensure that students are informed of all the necessary disclosurs.
Is your application process the same as the admissions process? Are the disclosures given to the students prior to enrollment?
Cindy Bryant, Facilitator
There are several ways that students are receiving disclosures throughout the process. Disclosures are posted on our website as well as on any information put out by marketing to the students. We also put disclosures on our application as well as through the student orientation process.
Paul,
It is great that you are continuing to work on this process. Confering with legal counsel is an excellent way to ensute compliance.

Hi Justina,
Great response. How would the student contact a Program Specialist if they needed assitance?
Cindy Bryant, Facilitator
Our Marketing team has various prongs to ensure all students and prospective students receive the currently required disclosures. Our website is a vital informational tool that ensures students and prospective students can access the material on their own or with the assistance of a Program Specialist.
We have just begun the process of reviewing our disclosures. We use a website as our main portal for information, and have a student handbook, but it is clear that we need to update both of these in order to be compliant. My colleague and I are drafting such disclosures, and will then submit it to our legal department. We are looking at this as work in process, as we have quite a bit to go through and it takes time.
Joseph,
I totally understand the challenge but it sounds like you have it under control.
Yes, I do all of the admissions training. Completely redesigning all of the material and communication has been challenging.
Joseph,
This is an excellent plan for disseminating the information. Will you be training the admissions team?
Cindy
Disclosures will obviously be posted on the website, but all marketing and advertising materials will be approved by home office and disseminated to the campuses. Admissions will be trianed on the location of infomation and disclosures as well.
