1. Make sure that every student has personally met the entire team and knows what each team members role is.
2. Find out the students interests and introduce them to faculty they may not know and who could inspire them.
3. Take them outside the school walls to see how their peers/alumni are using their degrees and thriving.

We are implementing a car pool service to assist students that lack transportation and to assist those with transportation with saving money on gas. We are also implementing student of the month and the student ambassador program to increase student engagement and recognition.
I will provide continuous support to the students. Making the student feel welcome to discuss any area of concern. And try to offer positive feed back, even when giving constructive criticism.

3 - as I am teaching one of my courses (a hands on program) for the first time, to work with the predecessor in improving my own teaching technique and the areas I need to stress for the students....
The first step is to help the student feel like they belong in the class and in the institution. second, allow students to get to know each other in the classroom.

1) Send weekly individualized emails to students in program, primarily to comment on any recent successes, but also to remind them of deadlines, support resources, and upcoming campus events.
2) Update our hall ways with artwork from students , faculty work and bios, and student/grad success stories
3) Implement a new requirement for faculty to update portals weekly, so students can track their progress throughout the term.

I think we all respond more to encouragement than criticism. Even when pointing out an area for improvement it can be done in a positive way.
