Activity

Theodore, You have chosen great tools to use to combat your challenges, nicely done. How do your students currently respond to the way you are discussing tuition? Dr. Jean Norris
Theodore, Very cool. I'm curious though, how do you know if that benefit is important to the student? What type of conversation to you have with the student to see if it's important to them? Dr. Jean Norris
Thank you for your insightful posts, Theodore. You hit the nail on the head with your tactics on the phone with the telephone interview. Nicely done, as well, with the tour. "Painting a picture" is great for those that are truly visual learners. What if you have a student that is more auditory (needs to hear it to believe it), or kinesthetic (needs to touch it/experience it to learn it)? How do you inform them of the student-customer experience and resources? Dr. Jean Norris
Theodore, Great awareness! Turning off that external noise and truly being in the moment will help you help your student. Consider what the student could be saying to you while you are off being distracted! Could they be telling you exactly what they need in order to start at your institution? Dr. Jean Norris
Theodore, It's important to remember not to categorize each student when you hear similar things come out of their mouth - nicely done. Each student may have the same type of issue, but it's custom to them and should be responded to in that manner. Dr. Jean Norris
Theodore, Ethical is the way! Tell me, how do you know if it is truly a benefit for the student? Dr. Jean Norris
Laura , Great question! Let me ask you this in return: What kind of service are you providing the student in your office when you answer the phone during their time with you? Dr. Jean Norris
Brian, Interesting! Do you feel that being a leader is more important than a manager? Dr. Jean Norris
Discussion Comment
Dennis, Great awareness! It has been found that each role is situational, as well. Thank you for posting! Dr. Jean Norris
Rocco, Thank you for posting. Is this interesting fact something you give in addition to the reason you are calling? Dr. Jean Norris
