What are the instructional benefits of knowing the learning styles of your students? How can this knowledge be used to help you be a more effective instructor?

Buy knowing the and having an uderstanding of your students it will help you devlop a plan to address the needs of the student for better understanding of the material.

It is imperative that you know the learning styles of your students whenever you begin a class to make sure all students are able to learn new concepts. I think most people have combined learning styles which allows an instructor to utilize all "sensory modalities" when teaching.

Knowing the learning style of our students helps the instructor to create the course material interesting and according to their level. It also creates a bonding between the student and the teacher and opens an affective communication channel.

Knowing all the learning styles makes it easier to prepare your course work so everyone has a chance to learn equally.

In that I am a vocational instructor, much of our teaching revolves around hands on which is fine for many, but we also need to incorporate technical manuals. Some but not all of the manuals contain drawings and photos, but the rest we have to create to assist the learner.

I agree it is the best way to do this. these styles are important.

It allows me to be more effective with all the students in my class room. It is my job to make sure that my students leave the classroom with a good understanding of the material.

It is very important to know the learning styles to be able to effective communicate what you are teaching/lecturing and to keep them engaged.

Having each class vary with different types of teaching, will help get the information across to all of the audience at one point or another.

The ability to identify the different types of learning styles provides a foundation to the instructor prior to the development and class presentation. It could be used to form bridge between the instructor and the teacher.

I agree. From my experience it is imperative that we consider the different learning styles of our students in order to achieve some measure of success.

Being as an instructor that is the most difficult part. Becuase every students have a different way of learning. You will always work with the students until you understand each and every students way and technique and use whats best for them.
