As a New Instructor E learning will definitely teach a instructor a variety of learning skills and techniques , I am looking forward to the challenge.

I would definitly say iam entry level as far as online instruction goes. But that being said iam extremely excited by all the new possibiliities with on line training.

Being prepare and familiarize yourself with the course material will make the class run effectively.  It will prevent frustration with students when they have questions or need help due to technical issues.  Being prepare will show student that you care.

Course delivery is the foundation to a successful course run. The instructor should access the course before students to make sure all techincal issues are resolved (links, videos, media, quizzes) and working properly. As an online instructor, I always go through each Module "as a student" first, I listen to the lectures, read the text, review the assignments and quiz. Then, I format a weekly announcement with an overview, to-do list, what to expect in the upcoming weeks, due dates, my contact info, etc. so it is readily available for students if they need me. As the course instructor, we are the subject matter experts and technical support assistant.

Online teaching is difficult and using the techniques in this course can guide the instructor of best practices. Communication on the online board can help with questions.

It seems clear to me that to have student and instructor success and fun in an Online class two major items must occur:

1. Learning Support

2. Technical Support

I have learned that while Online instruction can be frustrating for some students. To reduce or minimize this frustration one technique is to maintain constant and timely communication with students. Friendly reminders are helpful

I have found that over the years of teaching Online classes that there are similarities in different Course Management Systems - Learning Management Systems Therefore, it is critically important to track all students in the course. Also, learning support and technical support are importsnt support infatructure components for student success.

It's important to become familar with the student LMS in order to get the most out of it.  There are so many things to do and ways to teaching a class online and incorporate different ways to engage students.

I learned that online instructor need to know CMS well to ensure success on the online platform.

I learned that a course delivery method is a way in which educational content is conveyed from instructor to student.

I'm planning to intend to apply it in my class with the next steps

-Integrate real-time interaction.
-Get creative with discussion boards.
-Maximize engagement with non-task interaction.
-Use multiple communication tools.
-Have a plan around the tool.

I learned that an important part of ensuring successful online learning is to have good support infrastructure, which requires me to familiarize myself with navigating the CMS.

There are many ways to engage  students in an online class.

Body language is super important, especially when face-to-face. This can make or break a conversation so it is important to prepare yourself with professional posture based on the meaning of the conversation and the setting.

Different methods of communication call for different preperations due to the different obstacles each method may cause, be prepared based on how you will communicate and know the risk ahead of time to make the conversation more productive.

When communicating with students, phone is preferred over written communication in order to utilize voice tone as well as words when communicating.

Just as I always want to have somebody to support, encourage, and help me, my students in online settings need to feel that somebody is there for them.

To process of a strong structural format and respond to student question with effective answers cours study material

Familiarization with my institution's CMS will help my students feel more comfortable, as well as myself.

My takeaways from this module include the need for a course to have a solid structural integrity, easy navigation, a link between the assignments and course learning objectives, as well as an active learning environment.  I have experienced many courses over the years, even before distance education was online, where these requirements were not met and it created a very poor experience for both the learner and the instructor.   Another is the need for the instructor to have a solid understanding of how the LMS functions, and how to utilize those features to manage the course.  Students also need access to support services outside of the instructor such as learning support and technical support.  Given the nature of online learning and the needs of the learner, these support offices need to be available seven days a week and ideally all day especially for those schools enrolling students located around the globe.
