The rules and important duties are placed in the resource notebook. We refer to the on a regular basis

some of the terms are:
Advertising, which is basically any form of public notice to recruit students.
Another term is enrollment agreement which is the legal bound between the school and the student.
Other terms are rules and regulations, which are the rules that the institution must live by to retain its licensure approval

I love the idea of creating and updating a Resource Notebook. I have taken the suggestions and added all Rules, Regulations and Statutes. From the institution side, I have collected all Terms/Conditions, Enrollment Agreement, Marketing Materials, etc... that was suggested earlier during this training.

Thanks for the suggestion!

There are plenty of terms used in the admissions process; for example: GPA, Fafsa but my favorite is students first.

I think so to; it is a great resource.

Information about the programs and employment outlook.

There are other resources but the notebook is the main one. After years of working in admissions I have three big binders full of information.

All information need to be a great admission Rep

I too work for an Independent Post-Secondary Education Institution and we use the terms Accreditation, Enrollment, Enrollment Agreement, Institution, Program, Scholarship, Regulations, and Rules on almost every call with students. Especially during initial calls/meetings with potential students.

The notebook must be updated on an ongoing basis as regulations change within the industry and the different agencies. Some people prefer to save a soft copy of the reference materials while others decide to have a hard copy present at their cubicles for constant access.

by maintaining all or most of the information of your institution is important, that is how you can just go back if you need any information you just forgot.

I have added everything from my training course in my Resource Notebook.

As a new admissions representative, my terms are limited to those used in the beginning of the process. As a representative of a newer school (Dental school open only 2 years now) I often get questions about our accreditation. There is often concern that we are not fully accredited since we have not yet had a graduating class. While this is technically true (we cannot claim we are 100% accredited until we have a graduating class), we do have the accreditations we need to ensure our current students will have everything they need in order to be licensed. As of right now we have done extremely well in the accreditation process and fully expect to pass all inspections and interviews with high marks. It's exciting to be a part of a new school and watching as it grows and continues to be successful.

Some of the terms and definitions that we use at my institution are how we classify students in our online system. Here is the breakdown of how students are classified:

Inquiry Only- are prospective students that would no longer like to be contacted by my institution

Prospect- prospective students who have shown interest in our programs but have not applied yet

Pending- means that the student has applied but is currently in the application process but does not have a complete file

Unpaid- means that they have been accepted to their program of interest but have not paid their deposit for their program

Paid- means that they have paid their deposit and have been accepted.

This helps counselors and administrative staff know what the student's next steps will be if any and where they are at in the process of applying.

Shannon,

When we organize our notebook, we are creating our resource, "our way" and promoting its use.

Organization is key and the notebook keeps me organized. Putting it together allowed me to learn a lot about the new school am currently at

Steven,
Orientation is a great time! It is the hand off from admissions to academics and the student begins their educational journey.

Maybe,

The enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the contract between the student and the school when signed by all authorized parties.
