Corey,
I trust that the term commission is truly Commission with respect to the Commission for Independent Education. Admissions staff are not allowed by law to receive commissions or bonuses.
Patty Aronoff
The terms and definitions commonly used at our institution are commission, enrollment, and program.

The catalog is a very important document in that along with the enrollment agreement, it constitutes the contract between the student and the school.
Patty Aronoff
Luc ,
Continue to add additional materials to your notebook such as organizational chart, product information sheets and marketing material.
Patty Aronoff
The catalog is a good resource reference. In everyday situation we only need to refer to it to solve and answer questions.
I agree:The notebook contains valuable information that helps to find important information quickly. In my resource notebook I have information about the institution including vision and mission statement, institution policies and procedures, the institution catalog, admission requirements, and accreditation information.

Compliance is the first and foremost order of business. Compliance is our protection as a school but also the protection of the consumer, our students.
Patty Aronoff
Gerry,
Job boards are a great way to keep connected to the community. They provide a look into future careers and also provide opportunity for part time positions in the field.
Patty Aronoff
In my resource notebook I must have everything that complying to the regulations of the Institution and always that will benefit the students for his/her Well Being. These also have to be in compliance of the laws of the State Education policies. All of your new Endeavor should be be in compliance with the laws.
When working with a potential student, we discuss courses, classes, diploma programs and certificate courses. The enrollment agreement is gone over as well as the school catalog. Tuition/payments/refund policy are all addressed as well.
We talk about job placement but as our school is a small medical training school (CNA,Home Health Aide, EKG tech)we keep a very up to date Job Board.
Margaret,
Great! We have the resources but will always need to take the time to really understand them in practice.
Patty Aronoff
Maritza,
Excellent! The resources you have available are important in remaining compliant. Take every opportunity to learn the details of those documents.
Patty Aronoff
Emily,
Organizational charts give us a picture of the operations and staff at the campus. This is a valuable resource in knowing the responsibilities of various departments.
Patty Aronoff
M Daniel,
Excellent! There is so much to learn as a new school owner. Keep in touch with your program specialist at the Commission. They are a solid resource for you.
Patty Aronoff
Aimee,
All advertising must meet the requirements of the Florida Commission for Independent Education. The Commission is a consumer protection agency and they regulate advertising to ensure that there is no misleading information presented.
Patty Aronoff
claudia,
Every school should have their graduation requirements posted in the catalog. Students should be well aware of the requirements for graduation and be working towards those requirements throughout their studies.
Patty Aronoff
Rosalined ,
Pre-admissions assessments are common in open enrollment institutions. The purpose of the assessment is to determine if additional educational assistance is needed for the student to be successful. Often math and writing are areas that students need tutoring or courses to increase their skills.
Patty Aronoff
Paul,
You have captured the spirit of the question. Definitions are important to know and use in the proper context. There are definitions in both the Florida statutes and in the Florida Administrative Code.
Patty Aronoff
michelle,
The enrollment agreement along with the catalog constitutes the contract between the student and the school. It is important as a consumer that the student understand the terms of said contract.
Patty Aronoff
Crystal,
A campus tour is integral to the admissions process. It gives us the opportunity to bring a personal experience to the interview. Walk and ask questions!
