I am leaning a great deal with this online course. when it comes to learning the various Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations, I have also been spending time and reading at the websites for the Department of Education and the Commission for Independent Education. Just as a suggestion we should have links to all references of rules and regulations. Would make much easier and faster to locate exactly what we need.
Shane,
You should always refer to the regs when you have A situation. I always point out a specific refence in my FAQs so that I know where I found the reference.
Patty Aronoff
I go to the websites and read the most updated rules and regs. I also print updated copies and place in a binder.
Anytime there is a situation (issue), I refer to the particular rule/reg and this helps me to retai the information
Shane
Matthew,
Keep on learning! You are tapping into valuable resources to keep your knowledge current.
Patty Aronoff
Annette,
There is a newsletter with the Commission as well as the state school organization, FAPSC. Check out both websites for newsletter information.
Patty Aronoff
Reading the regulations, talking with my supervisor, visiting the websites, meeting with consultants.
I do think a Newsletter would be helpful listing changes as they occur. Is there something we can sign up for available now?
Michael,
Your program specialist at CIE Can provide you direction when in doubt. Call them, ask them!
Patty Aronoff
Porsche,
Excellent! Keep on learning by seeking additional opportunities to grow and develop.

Matthew ,
Check out their website for important information as well as proposed rule changes.
Patty Aronoff
Michael,
The course is Florida specific which is required if having licensure here.
Patty Aronoff
Reading the rules has been helpful. Trial and error works too. We had a discount of tuition for students who were also members of our professional association. While I did not read any conflict in the rules and regs about this, it seemed plausible. Our analyst, however, interpreted the rules and regs differently. While nearly every school in this state has some lower tuition rate for Florida residents, it was interpreted that our program could not operate the same way. So, trial and error has contributed significantly to my knowledge and understanding of the rules, regs, and statutes.
This course has been extremely helpful in regards to learning all about the Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations. I have also been working through an e-campus program that covered pliciy, statutes, rules and regulations.
Continued training and visiting DOE for any updates are what keeps me informed of any changes in policy.
This course has helped the most due to it being Florida specific. Also the DOE and our director of admissions assist well.
Daniel,
Good news! Keeping up with it all starts with a plan and active participation in learning. You are off to a great start.
Patty Aronoff
We've looked at websites and newsletters for the various agencies like DOE, CIE, COE, etc, and all offer great information. Plus, as a school of nursing, we have the rules and regulations from the Florida Board of Nursing.
Albert,
Look for other sources specific to the programs you school offers.
Patty Aronoff
Marion,
Thank you for your feedback! The statutes and rules are the backbone of school operations. Everyone should be well versed on their content.
Patty Aronoff
Of course by taking this course, CM201 and by speaking with my peers. I like to be up to date on the current policies.
