Jessica,
Teamwork is essential to effective operations. Working on it together is a great team building exercise.

Brianna,
Excellent! Each state has separate rules so if you are operating in different states you will need to know them separately.

Monica,
Thank you for your feedback! Keep on learning.

Christina,
Great! Binders give you the opportunity to quickly edit your materials or reorganize as needed.

Mara,
Product knowledge needs to be thorough and accurate in order to provide the prospective student the information they need to make an informed decision.

I use a notebook while completing the admissions training. I print out any related information regarding the training for easy access.
I am keeping all the information on my computer and in a file in my desk for easy access, if needed when on the phone or talking to a student in person.
I am putting dividers into my notebook with each section labeled according to subject. I want to make sure it is easy to open to a certain section so I can refer to it as needed.
I like that very good idea I will use for my school also.
It's a team effort here as well. We all have a binder with tabs that we organize in.
I have also found it useful to create a binder with tabs on not only my institutions rules and regulations but also for the states. I believe that adding to this throughout my employment will be helpful!
I have printed out every sectionand have separated them into clear folders which are going into a folder I have created titled, FAPSC Admissions Training. I have found this training to be extremely helpful thus far.
I love the idea of having go to binders with all important information readily available. I am definately going to utilize this method.
I have created a binder that includes:
Programs Offered
Admissions Requirements
I have done as you suggested and have created a notebook and have printed every document on this website and added to my new notebook.
I keep a current catalog on hand and outline key notations or changes that were made from the previous catalog.
I have had the oppurtunity to create an admissions manuel when we first come online with the computer system back in the 80's. I have trained representatives on the internal system along with going over the entire catalog with them. All admission representatives an updated copy of the manuels and catalogs at their fingertips.
I also handle international students have to stay up to date on the international rules in SEVIS and with the FEderal government. I am a PDSO.
I keep all my notebooks close a hand and as you have suggested, continual look at the different governing sites web pages for new information and look for my emails with updates. print all information out and maintain the notebooks. I remove the out of date information and replace it with the new inforamtion. I do save the out of date information for a period of time in case I have to justify something I did. The date that I completed something may be subjected to the rule that was in place at that time.
We have all advertising publications in each admission office for review. Upon arrival a prospect is given a current catalog.
I have all my paperwork that is needed in a bookshelf that is easy to get to and maintain a sufficient number of supplies of the different documentation that is needed for enrollment.
I have alphabet sorters for each of our term starts that I have applications for.
All paperwork and extra communications with the students via email or updates are stapled to the back of the original application.
Upon certification in class, the paperwork is then distributed to the records office where a permanent file is made for the student and the file is arranged by date in all matters of communitcations prior to the student's enrollment in class.
A copy of the application is given to the financial aid department as soon as the enrollment process is completed. The student must meet all our conditions for enrollment. Sometimes there are extra documents that a student is require to produce, so the enrollment process may be a matter of weeks instead of the same day or a few days.
Once the students has met all the admissions process requirements, then the financail aid personell is giving a copy of the signed applications.
This is to prevent them from working on students who may not be able to come up with the extra needed documentation required. This stops extra work and wasting their valuable time.
Carol,
Good deal! Don't be shy about adding additional materials to your notebook.
