Alicia,
When you build it yourself, you know right where to go.

Patty Aronoff

Branden,

So many ways to organize! Find the best way that fits into your routine.

Patty Aronoff

Adalinda,

Organization is key. You are building a valuable resource that you will use often.

Patty Aronoff

Frank,
Continue to evaluate additional materials to add to the notebook.

Patty Aronoff

David,
You bring the importance of keeping current to the forum. Whatever formats we use, the information must be current to be effective.

Patty Aronoff

Karleen,

You are keeping an excellent record of resources. Keep up the good work!

Patty Aronoff

Scott,
Excellent thought! Having the material in a format that works best for you is the most important.

Is it required to have a binder? or paperwork? I have found it simpler to organize the information into folders and keep a copy on a flashdrive.

I am in the process of creating a hard copy Resource Notebook for our facility based on this training. I am also creating a Resource Notebook folder in my laptop for my immediate access. I have calendared a monthly appointment to check the FCIE website for any updates and add to both the hard copy and electronic locations.
Any other suggestions?

I am prininting EVERYTHING and putting it into my notebook with dividers so that I can refer back to it at anytime. I find this to be very helpful for me because if my supervisor or no one else is around to help me, I can go back to my training material. This information is too important for me not to have at my finger tips.

I have put everything into my notebook with tabs around the edges. It has been really convenient for easy reference.

filling cabinets
organizers
3 ring binder
scanned documents into computer systems

I will create a resource binder that contains all the course materials as well as materials provided to me by my institution. I also plan to use dividers to separate the materials into separate groups, as well as update my binder monthly

Dexter,

Excellent! You are off to. Great start. Continue to add more resources to bring more value to your notebook.

Patty Aronoff

Jonathan,
Samples are a great addition to the notebook. It brings reality to the resource.

Patty Aronoff

Mattew,

Electronic calendars with reminders keep us and others on our toes.

Patty Aronoff

Sue,

Excellent! Check out the other forums for great tips from the field.

Patty Aronoff

Angel ,

I like binders because you can arrange and rearrange with ease.

Patty Aronoff

I will create a binder with specific sections relating to all of the following documents: updated copy of the commission rules, commission newsletters, admissions training course materials, admissions enrollment agreement, catalog, and applicable school policy documents.

Like most, if not all, the folks on this thread, our school's admissions reps each get a training binder. It contains policies & procedures, sample paperwork, and other pertinent information. Each rep can add whatever information that want to make the binder their own. Of course it is important that all reps have the most current guidance and forms. Therefore, we keep the most current products in a shared drive accessible by all reps. As changes come out, the old guidance and/or forms are archived & replaced with the new ones. All reps are e-mailed about the changes and are required to obtain the updated information before working with any students.
