I print some of the documentation associated with admissions such as a complete mock package for training. Other documentation like rules and regulations are kept on the data drive and updated regular by management. Weekly we discuss changes and best practices.
I have printed out all Training Information as well as the Florida Statues that are referred to in the training material for all issues and questions that may arise.
I have placed the information into a binder with dividers and label tabs for easy access to the information.
Well organzied information makes problem solving so much easier! Accreditation, institutional, federal, as well as state criteria can be overwhelming. A good system is a plus. It helps me to organize each area separately, with references to other sections as appropriate.
Michael,
Dividers are a road map to your material. You can quickly flip to the right tab.

Diana,
It is so cool that there is automatic association with a particular color folder. Great system!
Patty Aronoff
Christopher,
Organizing is key to keep the documents together. Many schools use checklists within a folder.

Susana,
Place a reminder on your calendar to check for updates.

I find that using dividers help to organize and access information faster.
I will create a binder with specific sections relating to all of the following documents: updated copy of the commission rules, commission newsletters, admissions training course materials, admissions enrollment agreement, catalog, and applicable school policy documents.
Good morning,
I am a binder queen! I have created a binder and I've been printing all the material available through the course. I have also been cutting and pasting the itemized lists given in the text for quick reference pages.
To be honest for the first few months I really had no organization of any paperwork. I then realized the need for it as I started interviewing more and more students that had some great questions. I found that I didn't know where to look at times because I had no organization.
I have specific folders for various areas for the admission process. They are not only color coded per program but also per requirments. I then know immediately which folder is for what purpose and can find them much quicker.
Paperwork should have its own folder. (HR)
I have a binder that I keep organize and update as much as possible.
Diana,
No,it is only suggested. The important aspect is to gather the information in a format that you can access. Most people prefer the binder for their information.
