Since I have conceived all of our program offerings, I would rate my knowledge or our institution and its offerings as superior. Furthermore, I have successfully defended our application to the commission twice. I am discovering that we may want to expand our student services to include an orientation and maybe a few other ideas. We partner with a local university for most of our programs, so it is possible that we could partner for student services as well.
It is hard work to keep up with regulations, admission process, compliance, etc.... However, my pleasure comes when a student comes to me, look at my eyes and with sincerity says "Thanks. I have made it." Then I know we are doing sometime right.
The best tip i received from this module would be to utilize the knowledge of other departments in order to better understand the process. It is very important to know as much as possible and never stop inquiring about all aspects. This will ensure a positive outcome from your admissions interview
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate my knowledge of my institution as a 7. I am a brand new hire and I have been studying the catalog, documents and job aids provided to me; but there is still more to learn. I feel confident about the policies, procedures/ rules and regulations, do's and dont's, (etcetera). But as with most things, once I put all that I've learned into practice, I believe that is where I will really gain a full understanding of my institution.
Patty,
I have been at my institution for 5 months. This is my first job as an Admissions Representative. I have been learning every aspect of the college I work for. I find this training extremely helpful. I know I have a lot to learn and many experiences to come my way. The chart in this section is a wonderful tool. I know all about the programs that we offer and the different departments within our college. I am discovering there are many things to learn every day and things are always changing. Regardless of all the hard work, it excites me to know that I am playing a part in helping our students reach their educational goals.
Being new I would rate myself as average but learning. I know of what we offer with programs and services but feel that I ned to familiarize myself with where these programs will actualy take you. As for the services, learning that career services and the library will remain accessable post graduation, whenever you need them, is something I will definatly pass on.
I think I am very knowledgeable about our institution. I have studied the programs we offer and spoke to my instructor, staff, and faculty.
I would say that I pride myself in learning about every program, speaking to all department heads and every department to understand exactly what they do in order do my job better.
Our institution i s ranked #6 in the nation for online universities. We are regionally accredidated and we offer one of the best tuition rates. Our graduatioon rate is at 95%.
I know that we are regionally acredited and that we were purchased in 2005 and before hand were apart of a major University.
We offer Master's programs and in the future hope to offer Ph.D programs.
I am discovering that we had programs in the past that are being resurfaced that we didn't know about until just last week. (For those of us who are new)
I rate my knowledge on a scale of 1-10 a 7.5 as I am still learning.
Albert,

My Institution is top notch! I am with the marketing department and it is very important to keep them up to date on new programs as well as new policies that come out.
I would rate my knowledge right now as good and learning more as I go, about the diffrent programs we have to offer.
I would say very well since I have been there from the very beginning.Besides paperwork and regulations, we have a lot to learn about organizational culture and factors that may impact teamwork and the morale of the institution.
I have been working as an admissions rep for the same institution for over 10 years. We have gone thru alot of changes and I have built a very well documented notebook. I just keep getting new information....
I know all we offer in every department in my school. I do product knowledge training every few weeks of all our programs. I try being very knowlegdeable of all informatnion I need to provide to my students so they may feel well informed and can better assess to make an informed decision.
I keep myself up to date on new programs and procedures.
