In order to keep up to date you must stay in constant communication with your student, we have a system in which we can update and or add to their info
I plan on visiting websites listed as well as participating in our daily/weekly meetings as part of the admissions team so we can pool knowledge on any upcoming changes.
I plan to revisit the useful websites that I was provided with during training. These websites include: our company intranet, this website, and our online learning center website. I also plan to communicate efficiently with my coworkers and supervisors in order to stay up to date on current information.
I thought this was one of the most important sections because if you are giving prospective students outdated information you may be misleading them. I plan to find all the websites possible and sign up for new update alerts, as well as ask my co-workers to keep me updated as they find out new information too.
Should most of this be covered in weekly meetings with management or is this solely our responsibility?
I check the Ohio Board website monthly to remain updated.
I think adding a monthly reminder in Outlook is the best way to ensure you will not forget to check for any updates. I will implement the same, so I can stay current with any changes made on the Boards websites. Great idea!
I plan to ask for samples of flyers and other media materials so I'm able to keep up to date with the changes in offerings from my school to Ohio students.
My school has an internal website with links to state and national regulatory and compliance agencies, as well as newsletters covering any upcoming changes within the school and the industry. Our departments have an open door policy so I have a tendancy of wondering in once or twice a month to see if there has been anything new and to refresh myself. It helps to stay in touch with all departments in the school.
Its good to keep up-to-date on the Ohio boards recent changes. Also, make sure to go to any mandatory meetings that usually have important information and policy changes
My leaders are continously updating us on what is new, they are also ensuring that we attend quarterly training to keep us informed.
I plan to set a monthly reminder in my Outlook calendar to check the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools website for updates or changes.
Also, I make every effort to netowrk with the academics department as much as I can. My maintaining my relationships with them on a daily basis, I am ensuring we will work together as a team rather than individually for our campus. I receive licensing exam updates, changes in the field, and curriculum enhancements that I can then pass on to my prospective students.
We have faculty members who attend training online, receive correspondence via mail and get updated information via OACCS. We gather quite frequently to get all the updates, and to make sure we are all on the same page.
I have marked my calander to check with the website each month to read up on any changes made that I need to add to my binder.
I meet with the department heads weekly and the faculty monthly, (extra meetings as necessary). We continually discuss policy and procedures, updating forms, streamline methods to help communications, all while keeping the mission of the instruction in focus.
I plan on checking our school website, speaking with my co-workers and supervisors about any new or updated policies and procedures. I also plan on reading through our new catalog as well to brush up on which courses are offered at certain campus' now and any other important information that I feel the prospective students would be interested in.
My plans are the follow up regularly, and continuously refresh/reinforce my knowledge by keeping my resource notebook handy and rereading as time elapses.
Included in mine, I do have the list of urls that may serve to easily find updates. This is something I plan to review regularly and update as changes and additions to laws/regulations are made.
We have regualar meetings with all departments present where I can receive updates on departmental changes. In addition, I plan to schedule time periodically to do my own research to review any changes made to policies and procedures. If I schedule this time on my calendar, I know it will get done!
It is my intent to meet with a Dept Dhair one a week, and sit in on a class once or twice a quarter. Becoming familiar with our instructors and how the classes are run will make me much better informed. I am also asking the Chair's to include me via email in any updates to classes and curricula
Monthly reminders to view the site for updated information is vital to staying informed.
