Social networking sites have had a tremendous impact on how all schools and businesses interact with students and partners. We are very proactive in making sure our students have access to us via social media. We might miss a whole demographic of potential student if we were not available through this media. All the more significant that we, as an institution, are very vigilant that the information we provide on line is accurate.

Social Networking is major. There is no way around this.

My school is concidering the use of text messaging and facebook as a means to communicate with prospective students and increase awareness of the school in general

I agree. With the popularity of such sites, students are now able to communicate with each other in new ways. This can be beneficial for an institution but it can be problematic if school agents are connected as friends on such sites.

Social networking is the most popular way of communicating. I think the nicest thing about it is that potential students can talk to current students and alumni. That's your best marketing tool you have in your arsenal.

Absolutely, we use facebook, myspace, linked in, and many other sites to keep in touch with our students and graduates.

Social Networking sites have become such a useful tool to achieve widespread delivery of information. Having alternative methods for prospective students to view information and communicate with the school allows for more students to be exposed to the information. My school does have a current marketing plan that utilizes various social networking sites to portray information and details.

Its seems to be quite popular with our school. currently and prospective students are joining and commenting on our Facebook page. They have even used it to reach out to people they are in need of reaching.

We have a website and we use Facebook

I love the idea; however, I feel a need for a "business only" site, and then have a "personal" use site.

also agree, great additional or complimentary strategy to contact leads/prospects.

Social networking sites have been a positive from a communication standpoint with prospective students. It's an easier way to converse, and much more informal.

Yes, we do use these sites actively.

Social networking has a tremendous impact on communications with prospective students.

I would not know how networking sites have affected communications with perspective students as this is a task not delegated to campus agents.

Love the fan pages. Great way to share information about upcoming events, activities, ect.

Social networking...that is where everyone is these days. This is an important part of our overall marketing stategy.

Social Networking Sites such as Facebook has allowed our school to take a look into what's happening at our other locations throughout the US.

It does actually! I am heading to a seminar to learn more about professional social media and ways to engage students this week. The high school presenter is also using social media for one entire topic for her presentations, and its so relevant for the students that they all seem to really enjoy it and engage.
