helped alot

This is the first time i have taught students to actually learn to work and help a physician. This seminar was a big help in my overall classroom participation

materal

this ed 105 was helpful it shows you many ways to expose material to students

Learning Projects

I especially liked the tile of "Learning Projects" rather than using "assignments"  when working with students.

Active Learners

I teach Anatomy & Physiology without many models at my disposal, so, creating interactive lectures has always been a challenge.  Also, there are concepts and 'bolded words' that just need to be disussed and covered.  Sometimes covering material does not lend itself to small groups.  I have decided to look at each lecture section and see what I can adjust to make it more interactive.  I know I want to be the best instructor I can be, so, I appreciate the information and encouragement of this course to shake things up in a good way!

Great new information on effective ways to facilitate learning!

I had some technical difficulties with this course, but even just the highlights provided me with great new information about how to engage my students in active learning and how effective it is.  I am excited to use this strategy more in my classroom.

Making Med Term Fun

I am anxious to put some of the activities into my classroom. I enjoyed the course.  Keep the ideas coming.

Rethinking

I was very careful to really rethink about how I lecture and to make sure it is more of a class discussion. It really helps to open up the lecture more to the students for them to respond and give their opinions. I think we all enjoyed class more with this change.

A very interesting transition

I have been a field operative for most of my life.

This course has opened me up to the differences between training and teaching.

I have learned that "teaching" involves more of the students in a "concert" rather then just as a solo preformance.

The beauty and rewards of teaching

I've found teaching to be the center of my life as a whole.  Teaching keeps me grounded and focused.  Working with students brings much reward, even through the tough times.  Life without educational engagement would be difficult, because it is in my blood.  The traing in such a course reminds me of the complexities of teaching.  Being more aware of students is invaluable as  an educator who is committed to student learning.

Being helpful

We must understand that in the realm of technology, students will always experience technical issues. This is why by going the extra mile to assist students can go a long way when it comes to being helpful!

POSITIVE ATTITUDE

I TOTALLY BELIEVE THAT OUR ATTITUDE AND THOUGHT GOVERN OUR WORK BEHAVIOUR AND OUTCOMES.I HAVE TRIED IT WHEN I START DAY THINKING,I WILL DO MY BEST AS MUCH AS I CAN.,THE DAY GOES SMOOTH.WHEN I START COMPLAING ABOUT THINGS I HAVE TO DO,THE DAY GETS TOUGHER.SO ALWAYS A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

I also support that offering variety of teaching methods meeting needs of most of  the learning styles will give best results.having variety of methods and not only instructional way keeps students involved, retain information.

Reapply The Basic's.

Simple strategies for improving the way we interacat with students and manage a classroom can easily be forgotten as we continue to grow in successful delivery of applicable knowledge. I have found that returning to the basic strategies can help re focus my effectiveness. By combining the other successful strategies I have learned with the simple and basic ones I first started with, it increases that effectiveness even more. I think we all tend to move through levels of performance. It is good for me and good for the students to go back and apply the basics to all the… >>>

Practice makes perfect

I have found that when I do an overview at the end of a lecture, and through out questions from the lecture or ask why this would happen with this, I get to gauge who is critically thinking, and who may need help!

The bingo game in teaching new and didatic techniques

Using hands on skills that is out of the normal..... like not using text books.... excites my students and gets them to refocus and learn.... it breaks the monotony of lecture and note taking!

stubborn students

I am really so excited with forum contents, it has added new ideas for teachers. We basically try to do our best in class rooms., still once a while you do come cross stubborn students. No matter what technique you apply  they go out of control and engage couple of more and cut your flow of teaching.

Help to be a better instructor.

Although alot of the information presented in the classes was not new to me, it was a great refresher. It brought new ideas to the forefront and served as a tool for me to re-evaluate my style and how I interact with students and new ideas on how to handle problems.

Previous Corse

I found that this corse was simple and another refresher. It was easy to navigate through and it also did make me think of the things i do and dont do as an instructor. I enjoyed this and felt it contributed to my career!

Very informative, detailed, and to-the-point info

Yes I was skeptic, but I found the online course to be very well oganized and suitable to most (not all) fieslds of study.

The interactivity was effective and the outline and organization was top notch.

The only comment I may add is that it lacks some direct contact with 'non traditional' career trade schools such as ones in the arts and media since these course rely on creativity and practical implementation which directs coursework in slightly different paths thaan other skill-driven courses.

ED101

I have always given my students a complete syllabus the first day of class and gone over it thoroughly to make sure they understand what is expected of them.  I feel that if you give students the correct information it really helps in keeping them in line with deadlines and also helps them realize that when they get out there in the job market what an employer is expecting them to do also.

Student success is within our control

We, as instructors, should never believe that student success is out of our control.  We can always find and way to keep the students engaged and learning.  If you give up on even one student and stop trying to help then you may not even realize the impact you could have made with that individual.  You are truly in a position as an instructor to change lives for the better.
