Reluctant at first...

but after completing the last section, I am happy to have had the experience.

After the Course

Once again, another good module to go through.  Ed104 provides much valuable information about how to manage your classroom as well as some of the difficult situations that may arise within it.  Personally cannot think of any major points this module left out when it comes to classroom management.  Impressed with the product!

Knowledge gained after this course

This course was very helpful. It helps me evaluate the type of test materials I give my students.

Know thyself - keys to becoming a good teacher

ED 105 really empowered me to become more self-reflective as I develop course content.  Personality profiles and assessments genuinely help new teachers to determine their delivery style and what works.  If a teacher begins not knowing enough about their strengths and weaknesses, then that teacher will have a weaker starting point.  I believe this teacher will still learn their strengths and weaknesses through trial and errors, but much time will be saved if we, as teachers, learn and cultivate our skills before we enter the classroom.  Ways to do this is to take time after our long studies in school. … >>>

Medical Terminology Fun!

These games are great! I have always used a few basic games that can carry over into a few classes. But these games are loads of fun. I can see students really liking them.

I also loved the information about retaining information and how many times we have to do something or see something in order for us to remember it.

Its very common that we as instructors go through a whole lecture and THEN play games and do other learning activities. But I see now how important it is to break up lecture and put fun learning activities in the… >>>

becoming a good intructor

As a first time instructor i have learned that you need to show that you care for your students, and you are not there just for a paycheck. As an instuctor i show compassion towards my students, i do not become a friend, I just become an intructor who cares about them and cares that they pass the course, and i am there for them no matter what. I am a fair and consistent intructor. I want my students to suceed as becoming a great medical assistant. In me i want them to see a refleceted model of what they… >>>

Course ED 103

I thought that this course on Student Learning was good because it not only covered various learning styles, but it included tips on how to work with these students and their learning styles.

adult attention span

I was pleasantly surprised that adult attention span was 15-18 minutes on the quiz I would assume that we would have a larger time span because we have been able to learn more and would want to learn more if we are in school

Course

This was good course it really helps to clearly understand the function of the brain and how informationis processed in different ways and how each individual processes it

Expectations

This course met my expectations and empowered me to be much more organized as an instructor.

ED 104

I took the first pre-assessment to understand what courses I need to take first.  I found that ED 104 would be my first suggestion for a course.  The suggestion to take this course could not have been better.  I learned how to handle difficult situations and to enforce class procedures while encouraging student learning in many different ways.  I hightly recommend this course.

Reinforcement-ED102

I think that the posiitve feedback that we as teachers provide to our students goes a long way.  It is imparative to hear that we are doing good.  Ones future successes, depends on our current ones.

EL104

I think this was a pretty good course. I think a lot of it can be used in a residential class too!

ED106

THis course was good to learn about how to teach students with disabilities

ED 105

Hi there

I really enjoyed the ED 105, I feel that I always learn alot of great ideas from these,

I just need to find a way to apply them to my teaching style. I am very interested in the open book testing, but again I need to find out how to use it in a positive matter.

I find that, after I complete these I need a couple of weeks to reflect on things and then I can find ways to use

the ideas to help the students. Thank you for the information and look forward to the next… >>>

ED103

ED103 was aninformative training session.   I was reminded of the various learning styles and also learned new information regarding the types of testing and which is more statistically sound.   I have traditionally utilized the standardized testing and will screen the questions before delivering to the student(s).   However, I now appreciate the fact that an instructor written testing may be more revealing of how the student is or isn't progressing.   I can still utilize the software to create the tests and save them for future use.

Great Forum

I thoroughly enjoyed the Forum 105: Instruction Planning for the Student.  I plan to use some of the suggestions from the session in my teaching.  I also plan to rewrite parts of my syllabus.  I thought my syllabus was clear but after completing this session I really need to rewrite it and make it clearer for students.

classroom 101

This was a great reminder to be prepared before class and to meet and greet stduents as they are coming to the first class session. good reminders throughout the course

GREAT

This is an excellent way to ensure growth. It also helps to establish a baseline and make sure all are on the same course of progression as instructors.

Professional Development: A Learner's Activity

Advancements via online portals have made it most convenient for educators and professionals to receive quality and continuous development. Ideally resources and tools as available through services like the Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) have combined various levels of facilitation that allow participants accessibility and manageability.

Professional development as is required by many corporate organizations is made easy when the resources are focused and streamlined for a specific purpose - Professional Development. Often limitations and barriers to professional development are those of available opportunities. With platforms that allow for a variety of interaction to include threaded discussion in collaboration with self-paced courses, assessment with reviews and trackable goals, there is staying power… >>>
