EL-104 Teaching and Organizing a Virtual Learning Environment

I truly loved this class.  Learning so many different options to facilitate student learning in an online environment has given me skills and ideas that I will be implementing in my winter classes.  I appreciate this educational opportunity and will be taking more classes.

ED205 - Professionalism in the Classroom

The course was very infomative in reminding me the importance of writing as a form of communication.  I am excited to build a writing assignment into each of our classes.  We currently have presentation activities and group work however, I do not have the students submit actually writing assignments.

Thank you for the suggestions on making the assignments relevant to the courses I teach.

ED113

I enjoyed the class it will be very helpful to me in the future.

ED 102

I liked the ideas in this course for keeping students engaged.  One was using index cards to write information about each student, so that you could learn about each one, and have them actively paricipate in classroom discussions accordingly.  A great motivation tool.

Update on accommodations for student with disabilities

Chronicle for Higher Education reports that there has been a new federal court ruling on accommodations for a student with disabilities.  The medical school must provide additional assistance to help a student with a hearing disability (deafness).  This assistance means an interpreter and transcription services.

Effective courses

The coursework was helpful in guiding us through best practices as educators.

Course on Assessment was Useful

Being reminded about Bloom's Taxonomy, helps me to design better objective assessments. One can create objective assessments at all levels of Bloom if one works at it.

Wish I could

How do you feel about a lot of career schools closing?

Wish I could

Our school will be closing soon.

ED-115 Great Information

This course taught subjects that you need to continually develop for you to grow as an educator.

ED 115

This course gave losts of extra information on how to relate to different students with diferent soft skille. Soft skills does not mean that you are using your voice in a soft tone but it relates to the students bahavior and emotional state. Everyone comprehends differently and we have to keep in mind that we are all different.

This course gave some valuable tips to help manage an adult classroom.

I'm sure we have all had those adults that want to bend the rules and these tips and strategies seem like they will work.

Helpful

Great lesson. I plan on using some of the ideas in my next lesson.

ED102

I found the class to be very informative and helpful. I will surely use these tips on motivation, respect, retention, etc. to my advantage in the near future, that way my students will feel comfortable in the class room enviorment and hopefully show enthusiasm in the course.

A very challaging course which I also found very enlightening. The information discussed and knowledge acquired has really empowered me.

EL108 - Excellent Course

This course was very informative.  The course provided several techniques to prepare student to become better online learners.  It discussed time managment skills, student special needs, effective communication and how students can avoid common pitfalls in the online environment.

ED311 - Great information!

This course was very beneficial and reinforced many of the concepts I learned several years ago. The key now is to start bringing more of these into the classroom. There are many kinesthetic activities that can be used to simulate activities, especially when a tight budget does not allow for some equipment purchases. Michelle Deck helped me kickstart my innovative side so that I can start bringing more creative and fun activities to the classroom that will help reinforce course materials that are often very difficult to grasp.

Learning, Instruction and Multiple intelligences.

As an instructor it is important to know that people learn differenf ways, and that multiple intelligences are what we will come across when we teach students.  I want to be able to reach all my students, and cater to their preferences of learning so they do well in class, graduate, and become productive members of society.  I believe that everyone can be taught, just in different ways.  My dental career courses and classes are put up that I will have a one on one contact with the student, know their learning preferences, and guide them with what they have learned through the process.  I see it… >>>
