ED113

This course on managing the adulr classroom is highly recommended for any instructor teaching in a career college. This information will definitely make you a better instructor.

ED102 Experience

After completing the ED102 training course, I feel better equipped to operate and facilitate my course.  It's important to know the different types of students, so you can address their concerns initially.  If you know the type of student you're dealing with, you can devise a suitable plan to interact positively.

ED105: Instructional Planning for Student Success

I just completed ED105 and found it quite helpful in coming up with methods for grading and delivering course content.  There were a few ideas that I hadn't considered and some explanations (especially about evaluations and grading) that were really helpful in understanding why we grade or do things in a certain way.

ED 104

Gained valuable insight to student behavior and strategies to try when faced with problem students. This course also reinforced many of the policies I already have in place with my class such as assignment deadlines and penalties, boundaries and evaluation

EL 106

I just finished this course and it was refreshing to gain new information and perspective on the topic of assessment. There were many great ideas shared which could be easy to incorporate into the online classroom, especially those kinds which can be placed in a discussion. In the online classroom, it seems the course and assessments are already in place but these are great ideas to incorporate more on an individual basis or even recommend during course revisions.

ED 109

I just finished this course and found that it was pretty helpful.  Any college instructors have never formally studied Education and thus have little knowledge of Bloom's Taxonomy, etc.  These courses are a great way for college faculty to improve their understanding of these critical skill sets.

ed206

I have expressed that this training would be excellent if done in a group type environment.

EL101 What you learned

I learned online courses are the future and there is no difference to the trational method of a face to face method verse an online method other than the face to face interaction.

ED102

This is my first course in the Professional Development and it was very interesting to reinforce many of the concepts mentioned here and to learn the name of other concepts.

I am glad I have taken this course to increase my expertise in the online environment.

ED322

As a culinary instructor, some of the information was common sense in this course.  However, the final quiz did not really cover what was covered in the course -- it read as a "what not to do" as a culinary instructor.  I can see how this would be geared more towards GenEd instructors in a culinary school.

EL 103

I found that the EL 103 course updated me in ways that I could work to improve upon my online course, and also mentioned additional websites that I could use such as TeacherTube and SchoolTube as resources for redseigning my online courses. I look forward to future comments on my comments posted in the discussion boards for the course.

Sincerely,

Marjorie Thrall Moller

ED112 - a "new" look at an "old" concept

Despite many years of teaching adult learners, I must say that the ED112 course on motivating students has rekindled my interest and knowledge in this area.  I think we often need to revisit concepts that we may feel have been 'mastered' to ensure we are positively impacting the successful outcomes of our students.  I found the course to be a wonderful refresher in how to analyze, view, and evaluate motivational techniques among adult learners.  Well worth the time.....

ED117 Could be the best

As I mentioned in my evaluation of the course, I believe that if this course was presented and taken in a group activity with roll playing and shared experiences I could have gained more.

The course is sure beneficial and quite informative. To put this in perspective I did a self analysis pertaining to some of the topics discussed. For example, when I was in high school cell phones did not exist. I was, at one time reluctant to own one. Now if I leave home and forget my cell phone I feel I've left a part of me behind.… >>>

ED110

This course helped me get a better insight about how a baby boomer like me interacts with different generations X, Y, Z and even with veterans, who are in school for the program LEARN TO EARN.....i

That even we belong to different generations, we are not different with dealing or coping with challenges and or stresses....this makes life more beautiful and interesting.

ed 101

very imformative course

ed101

It was a good topic to go over, very informative and improtant. Teaching is a skill that requires constant improvement, constant progress.  After each lecture, every teacher has to ask themselves a question: How did I do today? Was my lecture good, clear enough? Was I able to give to the students the information they were here to get? Will they remember the information tomorrow, one month, or one year from now?

course 116

I have learned that discipline, judgments, critical thinking, logic, common sense, and problem solving is very important to students. I totally agree that critical thinking is self directed, self discplined, self monitored, self corrective thiking. I also agree that judgment is developed thorugh extensive experience.

ED 101

I have completed ED 101. Being new to teaching it gave me a huge insight as to the kind of instructor I am and ideas to cope with some student stress in the classroom.

How can Instructor help eachother in solving Admin related issues?

We need a better communication between the employees and employers, but when there is lack of understanding the working environment becomes stressful. I believe that everyone should work like family.

A Vision of Students Today [VIDEO]

There's plenty of criticism going around regarding the fact that much of the entire U.S. educational system from preschool to postsecondary education is outdated in the 21st century economy.  In fact, it's a bit cliche at this point but every now-and-then, something grabs your attention.  This video has over 4 Million views on YouTube and while I can't tell you why it resonates with so many, I can tell you what I enjoyed about it:

1. This video was made in 2007 before it was as popular as it is now to criticize the educaiton system.  The great recession acted… >>>
