My views on the ED 106 Course

I really enjoyed this class very much.  I found module 3 to be interesting when it comes to working with diverse learners and it is jus great that we have courses like this to enhance our teaching techniques,  It was a wonderful class.

Time and stress management

I teach this stuff.  This was a good review

My Views on ED 102 Retention Course

I really enjoyed this course, it gave me some good pointers as to how to motivate my students in the classroom.  I gained some good insight in this course that I can share with my students.

ED 102

This course was helpful for me to really think more about each student individually and not as a group. I know that each student have their own personal issues and sometimes this leads to them not completing the program. Being able to make the information more relevant will allow them to see the benefits of what they are studying and applying their new skills immediately will help them to maintain their focus.

Great course

Motivating a student is very importing for their future

Only a succussful instructor can motivate a student through intrinsic and extrenesic motivating factores as giving a sence of secure learining environment, preparing good lectures that have a good understandable content, a good summary , how and when we use this licture in our daily work.

Interactive games

I have used a Jeopardy format to lighten up the class and learn at the same time, has anyone else tried this format?

enhancing student motivation will also lead to a more successful employee in the long run.  empowering a student has long term effects for both student and instructor.

Generation time frames for ED117

After reading and working through the ED117 module I thought that the dates for the generational groups were off by a number of years. The veteran generation were from WW1 to 1930. From 1930 to 1950 it was the silent majority. From 1950 to 1970 were the baby boomers. From 1970 to 1990 are the generation X. and from 1990 to present are the generation Y. I also discussed these dates with my mother who was born in 1933 and she agreed that the dates were a bit missed skewed. I was born in 1953 and I am considered a boomer… >>>

Motivate and have Fun....

Motivating students should be a fun activity and classroom goal everyday. This encourages students to participate if the end result is all about learning and having fun.

Motivation

Motivating students is a best practice in my classroom. Encouragement, a positive attitude, and a fun learning environment encourages motivation.

Learning and Education ED 104

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to better my self for learning all the teaching techniques i am learning and most likely I use them in the class with my students.

Lecture time

Lecture time and time management is very important when you are teaching an fast paced course!

Concepts of mature student motivation in a security learning invironment

This course, ED 109,  was very instructional in my reevaluating student motivation and promoting  active participation in a class room experience.

Mature learners are self-motivated for the most part, and seem to work very well independently without close supervision. They tend to have very high attendance rates, and come to class prepared.

Each ED course provides a unique opportunity to leanr new and tried techniques in class room learning.

questions

its nice to start with open ended questions but i also use closed questions that are out of topic but directing to what im going to discuss. This gives me an idea on what the students state of mind as i begin my class.

ED 114

I always open up with a closed end question because they are the easiest for the student to speak up to.  To help break the ice.  Then I follow up with the open end question to allow the student to expand on for a stronger comprehensive knowledge of the material. If their answer is good enough for a comprehensive reasoning.  Then I will give them senerios within the hydraulic field to allow them to see what they can do to think through a problem and what diagnostics tools they would use to come to their conclusion.

ED112

This course was very relevant to understanding how adult students think and react to learning.  I will incorporate these methods immediately.

ED 106

This course was very informative as to helping students with learning challenges.  I will be able to make use of several of the scenerios to increase my teaching knowledge and help my students.  Mindy smith

ED113

I will be able to apply what I learned here to become a better Guide for my students. I can maintain a better classroom enviroment while still maintaining discipline

ED105

ED105 is good for new instructors and a great reinforcement of things you might already be doing. It is good to know the reasoning behind these best practices.
