ED103

I was hoping to learn a little more about the flow of a lesson plan but I guess that is too individualized the make a general process for all to follow. I teach the same classes all the time and I did find ways to 'jazz-up' my lesson plans so that was beneficial.

ED102

ED102 was a great course. I learned things that I would never have thought of. Thank you for all the great info

ED 104.

I'm happy to have discovered that most of the teaching techniques I use in the classroom are very similar to those found within the ED 104 course. One of the most important lessons I've learned teaching in America is to go in with strict guidelines and expectations for your students. Establishing a good first impression is key and helps students build their respect for you as an instructor.

Teaching and assessing students to determine whether they have grasped the intend purpose of a lesson is the key education.  This is done by developing clear & concise objectives, and valid & reliable tests that measure the desired behavior.

ED 113

I just finished taking the course ED 113. I certainly found this course to be quite challenging and also, helpful as to understanding better what my market student wants, so I can effectively engage them and ensure that I can become a guide for them, more than anything, while implementing some of the best practices in terms of managing a proper classroom overall. I certainly encourage others to take this course and ensure that this is put into practice.

Teaching

I love teaching and especially my course which is Sociology. The course content will be the same but each class is different and shares different examples as well as perspectives. It is easy to teach the same thing, using the same activities, supplements, etc. For me I change something about my class each term. This term, I completely changed it from the last. I am just like the students, I get bored too. When I am no longer excited about the material and keeping it fresh, I will stop teaching. No one wants an unmotivated and lazy student, same applies… >>>

ED106

I found many helpful hints andgood information in this course. I found an especially good piece of information about the IEP and how it is not law for anyone who has graduated highschool or is over twenty one years of age.

ED310

I just completed ED310- Teaching Medical Terminology in Fun and Exciting Ways. This class would benefit any instructor who needs to liven up boring class content-- not just medical terminology. The course gives many example activities a teacher can use to engage the class and help the class remember dry material. I look forward to using the many activities in the future.

Developing different teaching styles and strategies to effectively reach a broader audience.

Module E102 has taught me several different ways in developing more effective styles of teaching.  Understanding the different abilities of learning in different students has given me an entirely different perspective to the traditional methodology of education.  I feel that as children grow into adults they neglect and forget the effectiveness of both the cognitive and tactile approach to learning.

Assessment

I have considered myself to be very well prpared for online teaching, but am excited to learn new and interesting things.  I was really pleased with the assessment - I did very well, but was able to determine where to best focus my efforts to really improve my teaching.  This is a really great program for improvement!

Student Centered Learning, 21st Century Learning, and a lesson learned from Boy Scouts

For the last decade (plus) my professional and personal development has intersected.  Professionally, I have grown from a campus leader to providing services to multiple campuses.  Personally/Professionally, I went back to school to earn a doctorate in instructional leadership.  Personally, I went beyond my comfort zone and served as a Scoutmaster for my sons' Boy Scout troop.  When it comes to Student Centered Learning and 21st Century Learning this last decade has provided me significant opportunities to learn about how we educators need to embrace the role of "Guide on the Side" for students and integrate current technology into instruction. … >>>

ED104

I just completed taking ED104 and was happy to find out that many of the techniques I am using in the classroom were suggested in the course.  The one area I would like to comment on was when the comment on multiple choice questions.  I use these because the certification exams are multiple choice questions and I want my students to have as much practice as possible with them.  I also use other types of questions but feel it would be a diservice to eleminate them or to cut back on the number of them on the test.

ED112

It's good to know that a lot of the methods of teaching that I already use are ones that they suggest, but  whenever I take these courses I always learn something new. These courses not only instruct various techniques, but also explain why they are effective and various ways to use them.

Online Education – Results

In today's accountability atmosphere, the ability to provide evidence of "good teaching" in the online classroom is a prominent endeavor in distance education. In 2009, the US Department of Education published a meta-analysis reviewing 10 years of empirical data research in the online classroom. The overall finding was that generalized "best practices" by online instructors can only take you so far toward quality online education. Implementation of the generalized improvements in an already functional online learning environment rarely produced significant improvement in student success. The report indicated the statistically significant improvements resulted from leveraging the power of technology for individualizing instruction to… >>>

Preparing for success

This course has helped me to better prepare for future students. It's always good to have a back up plan for whatever might happen during a lesson. Too much time left over, too little time left for the rest of the lesson... etc. My goal is to provide students with a stimulating learning environment that will continually keep them engaged and eager to learn the material.

Interaction

Interaction is my key to keep all students involved

ED110

This course taught me some new ways to deal with stress, which will allow me to be more productive

ED106

It is always of value to remind ourselfs of yet another diversity element in society.  It humbles me to see a student with a learning diffiuclty strive so hard to succeed and then accomplish the goal.  Great course.

ED105

I found this course to be insightful in organizing lesson plans, classroom management, and grading (including the importance of the gradebook).  In many ways I feel this would be a great course to be scheduled early on in a new instructor's orientatioin/ training.

Generations

What an eye opening and motivating to enhance our students learning.  The content in this training has help a lot in understanding today's students and their learning habits.

I have learn how info to give them and why they react a certain way if the info is slightly outdated but still has revelance to current technology.

I suggest any educator to follow this training module then stand back and access your class, your teaching perspective to the students learning will change.

Excellent training module.
