Learned New Material

The course gave me a thorough insight into various resources that I was unaware of and will be useful for me in terms of relaying certain information to inquiries.

Enjoyed the course

I enjoyed the course. The audio option made the course much easier to complete, and i came in well under the normal time limit. I also appreciated the information on being informed about job opportunities.

How many pages must I have in my catalog?

Language Barrier

The United States is a diverse country and as such many people who enroll in schools may speak a second language. As such, can an institution be found negligent or be seen as discriminating for not having materials printed up in other languages?

Balance in dicussion?

Do you discuss personal experience with the prospective student as much as the student experience at the school?

CM221 – Florida Admissions: Complying with the Rules and Regulations

The Reveiw and Test taking for this online course was both interactive and easy to follow.

online training

The class is good.

Hardsell

Is the hardsell generally discouraged? I see many applicants afraid to give their name and contact information for fear of endless calls and emails.

Notebook

I find the list of documents and where to find them for the Resource Notebook most helpful.  This will enable me to gather all the information needed to serve our students.

Student files

Do you find it more efficient to keep paper files or use an electronci system? We currently maintain both, but are moving toward an electronic system more and more.

Helping Current Students Reach Their Goals

Sometimes some students go through hardship while attemting to finish school and if we give them the right directiion on day one, they need  to know which department they need to go for assistance in different areas. The school Support System like Student Services, Career Services, Department Chairs are a must to relate to new students. Even if they hear about it again in Orientation, we need to tell them first to bring confidence to their long awaited plans.

Allied Health - Admissions

Representative Referrals

As an Admission Specialist of USA - University of St. Augustine, I am not required to know in-depth information for certain departments/areas, such as Financial Aid, or Career Services.  I will be able to focus more on transcript evals - the bulk of my workload.  However, in my previous position at another college, I had to know at least general information from each department so that I may answer general student questions.  I plan to become familiar with faculty/staff and the department contacts so if I am not able to answer a question that a student may have, I can refer them to the proper representative.  This will also ensure that I do not release any inaccurate information and students will be well-informed on any matter.

Resource Notebook

Compliance is essential to maintaining integrity and for that reason the Resource Notebook is an invaluable resource.

Foreign Diplomas

I had a student from a foreign country give his high school diploma to enter the course, after doing some research and contacting the school board. The student will need to go to foreign affairs with original transcripts or diploma from their country to be able to receive a letter stating that they meet the requirements. My question is can we let the student start the course without and hold their diploma until we receive the letter.

Transfer of Credits

If a school closed down and you accepted those students to start where they left off in a course what would be requirement for the school that is accepting them to have in there records for those students, so they may finish the course they started.
