It is the feedback for me. It tells me if my student have recieved and I have delivered the material. My tests are also part of my teaching strtegy. When student are fresh at their errors, it is imparative to go over the tested material. This provides a better association and learning from the mistakes. Waiting for the next visit may be too late. Learning from our mistakes creates a window of learning opportunity which is often overlooked in my view.
Knowlege of the standards of the field is highly essential in creating the foundation of learning. I always assess the basic knowledge in my students before going further. Only then, the students and I, together will step into a higher level of abstract and conceptual learning.

Early on in my teaching carrier, I had hard time to manage my time. Often I would be running out of time and hover into the break time. With experience and having back up plans, I do not spread myself thin. I dont start a topic which I know I can not finish intime. Leaving the the topics half way through has had dire consequences for me. The students may not recall where we left out and I may be redundant. Once again, time management has reduced these issues in my work.

One of the strategies that I use to get to know my student is to have them do a life line with the most important events up to the present time that they have experienced. Or simply introduce themselves to the class, elaborate on reasons for taking my cource and their goals; and share one personal note if they wish. I start myself with a humorous introduction. This reduces the anxiety and makes me more personable to them. In this manner I gather loads of knowledge about my students, their potencies, and personalities. This also solidifies a bond between us… >>>

Essay Questions Essay items, like short-answer, are constructed-response questions. However, essay answers are typically much longer than those of short-answer, ranging from a few paragraphs to several pages. Advantages: Essay questions are the only question type that can effectively assess all six levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. They allow students to express their thoughts and opinions in writing, granting a clearer picture of the level of student understanding. Finally, as open-ended questions, they assess recall over recognition. Disadvantages: There are two main disadvantages to essay questions: time requirements and grading consistency. Essays are time-consuming for students to complete, and require careful… >>>

To improve achievement in student learning, teachers must be able to acknowledge when students are not progressing according to standards. A formative assessment is a process of using information to adapt or change teaching and learning in order to meet the learning needs of students. Such information is gathered from a series of formative assessment strategies that require student observations, analyzing students' assignments and analyzing classroom discussions. At the beginning of a lesson, teachers must present an outline that explains expectations--behaviors, course materials, topics, test dates and procedures for resolving issues, such as absence from class. The measures of success… >>>

Doing so will help you increase student participation and encourage active learning. The strategies below will also help you formulate questions for exams and paper assignments. Active learning extends beyond the classroom. When you ask questions in the classroom, you are modeling a process that students can and should use themselves; encourage your students to use the following questioning strategies to assess what they have learned, to develop their thinking skills, and to… >>>

People tend to perceive information in different ways and this has an impact on how we learn. For example, some people are visual learners, they learn better if they can “see” the information. Other people may learn better through hearing, or touch. Although each of us is able to learn through all of the different learning styles, a person will learn and retain information easier through their learning style. Most people will learn through more than one learning style, however, they will learn best through a specific style. This is not to say the will not combine different ways of… >>>

1 Reward your students for participating in class. These rewards don't have to be fancy; a simple "good job" is often enough to make a student feel great. The more a student experiences that inner feeling of accomplishment, the more motivated they will become. 2 Establish a connection with your students. A teacher who makes students feel comfortable and confident creates a safe environment. Students need to feel safe; they need to understand that it's okay if they get an answer wrong. 3 Create opportunities for student participation. Don't just lecture at your students--get them involved. Modify lesson plans to… >>>
