Showing examples are a great way to show them what I expect, what is acceptable and what’s not going to fly.
Showing examples of student work helps students understand better what the assignment entails and what is acceptable work. It provides them with a framework on which to create their own work. Can also ease the anxiety of not knowing what is expected of them.
The will be able to see the ultimate goal they are trying to achieve as a result of the effort they are putting into a course. Also, they will be comfortable knowing they are moving in the right direction for success.
Showing them examples engages them into the objectives. They grasp the expectations of the course and become invigorated by the activities.
Hi Ariana,
Visual does decrease anxiety, and students get motivated that they can do it!
Patricia
It relieves anxiety and helps students understand class requirements. Students can plan ahead to manage their time in order to complete assignments.
Hi Manuel,
Students love to be given examples to go by; it helps give them a better understanding.

student work is always a positive approach for students.
it will show them what is expected of them.
because it will give them an example of what is expected of them when they are fininshed with there course
because, they will grasp a better concept of what is expected of them.
Showing examples makes concrete your expectations. It also inspires, and can be used as an excellent jumping off point for group discussions.
It will also give them a sense of security knowing what to expect.
It helps them visualize and plan for the amount of time and effort they will have to allot to assignments in order to succeed. Adult learners often have to juggle family, job and other responsibilities and being able to plan ahead is very important.
Showing and practicing, visually and physically can get cognitive, social and psycomotor skills involved.
Hi Beth,
It works smoothly and very professionally when you can retrieve documentation.

Hi Timothy,
I've discovered they get a better understanding when they are shown examples.
Patricia
This gives the student a big hint of what can be acceptable as well as what can reasonably be expected from a problem statement to complete the assignment successfully. The example will often set a minimum for excellent students to surpass. While others will realize that they in fact can be successful in this class and that the problem statement is actually more daunting than the acceptable reality. Also instructions may not always be detailed enough in their problem statements for some students and an example will help fill in some of the blanks for them.
Hello Wendy,
