Each and every student needs to feel recognized. By interacting with every student, you are recognizing each of them and better understanding their learning styles. That, in turn, further engages the students in the learning process.
Hi Xiomara,
It is amazing what motivates our type of students. Interacting with them let them know that they matter, and we care.

Hi Beverly,
Instructors should have interaction with their students. Eye contact is important from the student as well. Employers really evaluate eye contact.

Hi Steven,
Establishing a rapport with students is very important. Much can be learned about the student by having a relationship with the student.
Patricia
You should make everyone feel like they are important and that you care about their future. It is also good to establish rapport with your students.
Hi Bonnie,
It is really important for students to know how to interact with each other. As mentioned, they will certainly encounter teamwork in the workforce. Students need to gain as much exposure about teamwork as they possibly can.
Patricia
Some students require that to have the support they need to keep them motivated. Personal situations usually take priority and by having someone their who supports them academically, they will see that their education is a priority as an investment in their future.
I think it is important to have interaction with every student because we are teaching them an employable skill that will require they interact with other people when they are out in the workforce. My area is one that involves teamwork. I try to get the students to work together as a team to prepare them for future classes and employment, and also to interact with each of them as they do this as an example of a supervisory/team leader role they will find out in the field. It also shows them that I am involved and care about them and their performance.
Everyone wants to feel included in some way, some more than others. I try to make everyone in the class feel comfortable, and make class an enjoyable experiance. By having some type of interaction, or relationship with each student it makes them feel special, and shows them that you care about there success.
It is important to have interaction with my students so we achieve a successful relationship. We need to have students feel at ease in our hands on classes, or the students tend to freeze when working on another student. If I am walking around the room and explaining why, where, and how to do the procedure, the students respond and catch on quicker.
Credibility. Engaging every at some level, is paramount for total student involvement. Knowing their names and some personal information makes you credible to that student and that you care. Learning is more fluid once trust is developed.
It establishes a repore and helps with respect for both the instructor and student. It helps identify if there may be any areas of concern that the instructor may be able to help the student with.
I have found identifying my students behavior styles helps with interacting with them tremendously.
I like the idea of finding out why the student is quiet. We shouldn't think of someone quiet as an outcast. They may be very involved in the content of the class, but not very involved with the members of the class. The need of the student should determine the path taken.
It is important to have interaction with every student because each on is an individual with very specific wants, needs and desires. Each student needs to be kept engaged on a personal level. Everyone wants to have a sense of belonging and inclusion.
Every student needs to feel connected to the instructor so that he/she believes that success in the class is attainable. When the instuctor Uses the student's name, has eye contact, listens, and answers questions, the instructor has interactions that every student wants and needs.
Interaction with every student is necessary first of all to determie where they are in the course, then to let them know they are important and you are interested in them.
Hi Linda,
Regardless of the size of the class, I make it a point to know each student by name and involve each student daily in the lesson.
Patricia
This is so true. Having them build relationships greatly improves their educational experience.
Hi Neil,
I certainly agree! Students like for the instructor to interact with them. I make it a point daily to make small talk with each of my students.
