Excellent mention of reaching out to each student individually by the first week. I usually reach out to then using a general email but using a more personal email will make them feel more cared for and improve their trust in me than a general email. I still plan on using a designed email since reaching out with a unique email to almost 100 students by the first week would be a daunting task. But using a designed email and adding a few personal touches should add the needed personal contact.
be mentally aware of the students, know your content
I learned that as an instructor, I want to have a relationship with my students, but also maintain authority and presense. I want break the ice by introducing ourselves, but provide my credentials, experience, and experience to what lead me to become their intructor. This will set the tone for the course and the teacher-student relationship.
I think this module can help a teacher in self- examination.
I think it is a good idea for a teacher to
regularly self-evaluate his/her approach
and attitude to both the subject matter
being taught and to the students being
taught.
Adding a Bio - I was never much into that, but i see its value.
Everyone, needs a cheerleader, no matter what their level
Including my credetnials as well as experience would be a good first step when starting a course
I appreciated hearing that it's important to connect with students individually... I liked the aspect of connecting with them one-on-one about an aspect of the bio they posted... I do think this does a lot to create rapport and trust in the instructor.
The importance of sharing your bio and learning about your students through thier bio

Online instructors can set his or her biography, credentials and hobbies. It is important to stablish instructor-student relationship by creating a getting-to-know-you assignment on the first day. Welcoming and sending a personalized message to students who are specially stuggling can help strenghten the educator-student relationship.
Apply teaching using a robust understanding of student success and the need for strong instructor support to make that happen.
What I have learned from this module is that I can project my presence but it is equally as important to establish relationships with the students.
It is important to build a learning community where questions are encouraged. The instructor should be responsive to students questions and provide timely and meaningful feedback.
Letting your students know who you are is important to build a sense of trust between students and instructor.
The introduction suggestions were amazing! Having each student do their own bio in a discussion forum is an excellent tool to get your classroom community engaged.
Developing a great relationship with the sudents is extemly important. Look at thier bio, send them welcome notes the day of class and the 1st week of class. let them see your precence, authority and that you want to have a relationship with them.
Relationship between the student and the instructor is essential for fostering a healthy learning enviroment.
