Mareny,
The enrollment agreement is part of the contract between the student and the school. All the definitions that you stated are outlined in the enrollment agreement and should be fully explained.

The terms listed below are commonly used in my institution. Luckily I can say they are all properly used and applied. Definitely our enrollment agreement is the term used most, as it contains so much information important for both our students and admissions staff. It's truly a very important document for us.

Debra,
We do have to set ourselves apart from the competition. Our schools provide smaller class sizes and more individualized attention. Well worth paying for.

Mario ,
FERPA is the federal requirement of securing information for students. Make sure you have signed forms when sharing information with someone other the student.

Marie,

Our students are our consumers. Understanding the terms and conditions of the contract is part of the consumer protection process.

Erin,

There is nothing worse than spending money on recruitment leads that don't convert. Taking a few moments to figure out what brings you the results that you need for your market area can save you thousands of dollars.

Thomas,
Interesting addition with the submission of the portfolio. A portfolio would give you great introduction to your prospective student. A lot can be said injust a simple presentation.

William,
When you have an admissions score, it is important to make sure that you have verifiable documentation in the enrollment file. This will be reviewed for compliance.

JulieAnna,

The enrollment agreement along with the catalog constitutes the contract between the student and the school. Both documents need to be reviewed prior to enrollment

In the admission process at my institution, we use the terms advertising which the most important thing in this area is honesty and integrity while also trying to get noticed.
We also use the term enrollment and enrollment agreement a lot to make sure that we have contracts and agreement between the students and the school and vice-versa. We always abide by the fair consumer practices, making sure everything is done in the right process. Marketing is a huge part of our business because we have to do things to set ourselves apart from the other schools in our field, which is sometimes not easy to do.

accreditation, financial aid, scholarship, enrolment agreement, program, credit, FERPA,

license / required licensing
refund / terms and conditions
policies / rules
tuition / fees

You make a great point about knowing how the student found out about your school. If you can determine which avenues are most lucrative for your school, you can increase those avenues, while finding new strategies for the avenues that aren't as lucrative .

Some of the terms and their definitions that we use at our institution include:

Official Transcript: An official transcript is the University's certified statement of your academic record. It is printed on special University specific paper, and includes the official seal of the University. It is delivered to another school in a sealed envelope. Once it is opened by an individual, it is no longer considered official.

Conditional Acceptance: Someone who is conditionally acceptance can be registered for classes, but can not receive any financial aid until the conditional acceptance becomes full acceptance. An example of conditional acceptance is when we are waiting on an official transcript from someone who is currently taking classes at another college or university, but we have their in-progress transcript. We will conditionally accept them until their final transcript comes in, and then will switch them to full accept if they meet GPA requirements as well.

Prospects: People who are inquiring about the university, but have not made up their mind to apply.

The term and used in admissions at our institution are all very common: enrollment agreement, application, transcript release form, but we also require students to submit a portfolio.

GMAT score: The raw score candidates earned on the Graduate Management Admissions Test. My institution requires it of applicants to the full time MBA programs, but not to the executive MBA program.

Sponsor: In order to enroll in the executive MBA program, the candidate's employer must agree in writing to allow the future student the flexibility to attend classes scheduled during the normal workweek. While it is not required that the figure commit to paying for the student's education, it is vital that this sponsor figure commits to supporting the student to manage his studies and professional workload at the same time.

Enrollment: When a student registers for a program by filling out their Enrollment Agreement which informs them of their financial obligation, the start dates, their potential graduation date (given they stay full time and do not fail classes), etc.

Enrollment Agreement: It's legally binding and contains the above as well as policies specific to the school and requires the signature of the student.

Program: A collection of classes specifically designed to train students in a certain set of skills. The completion of a program leads to a degree, diploma or certificate.

Danny,

Students should always understand the full impact of borrowing for their education. There are different types of funding available to finance their tuition and they need to understand every aspect of the financial aid process.

John,

Fair consumer practices are the heart of the commission. The agency is there to protect the consumer and the rules and regulations in place serve all the schools in Florida.
