Typically we are made aware any changes of rules and regulations by our Campus Director and Director of Recruitment. Also updates are listed on the school website.
This is similar to how the information is disseminated at our campus. I also visit the DOE and FCIE websites periodically.
As an institution, we are aware of any changes and updates regarding rules and regulations by our Campus Director, and Director of Recruitment to stay in compliance. Any information that we need to be aware of is either updated on the school's website or it is explained to us by our Regional Director.
Sharon,
Thank you for the feedback and the importance of continually learning.
I am learning the varius Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations that regulate my activities and institution by printing the information from the links, reading it, referring to it regularly and filing it for easy access.
Im mainly learning the Florida Statutes and Rues and Regulations from the other employees that work at the school as well as the reading material I have found in the school. I have recently met an admissions rep from another school who has also been a weatlth of information. I can tell you taking this test has really cleared up some questions for me as well as brought back some important rules and regs for me. Being in the admissions field for 27 years you learn you never know everything and sometimes forget to practice important things. I have created a new manual from the test and will have it at my finger tips daily for myself as well as other employees
I work annually with our program specialist at CIE to assure all regulatory processes are met, and to share our school's progress. We find our CIE program specialist to be a real caring partner in our evolution.
We also work with our site inspector. She will visit our location and walk through all of the student materials (transcripts, enrollment agreements etc.)
If you have a good internal filing system, and good communication, it is not a challenging process. The key, in my opinion, is to see CIE as an advocate not an adversary. These regulations are in place to protect employees and customers, which I appreciate.
I can't begin to tell you how valuable this course has been to me in terms of helping me learn more about the Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations that regulate my activities and my learning institution. As I am going through this course, I am printing our every section of the content and putting them in my new "notebook" that I started keeping based on what I learned in the previous section. Since coming to work at the school, people had told me different things to do, or not do, but now I have a better understanding of "why" it is important to do, or not do, certain things. My school is small and there are only a couple of us that work in the Administration Office, so we are involved in all aspects of the administration function. So, being able to read about, learn about, print out, review, underline, etc. the rules and regulations is of critical importance to me. Thanks so much for providing this information to me in this class, and for making it possible for me to print everything out.
We continue to take continuing education seminars which address these regulations. Our Executive Director also keeps us informed when he learns new information that is pertinent to our job responsibilites.
By keeping in constant communication with the director of education, admissions, and student services. I also tend to look at the national accreditation website.
I have read about FL statutes links that have been provided in this training. I have also printed them out and added to my Resource book. I have also scheduled some time in my calendar to go over CIE and FAPSC websites in order to be updated and informed. I'm always in communication with the teams that are involved in this topic so that they can keep me posted on any news.
Through the National Accreditation meetings that the Director of Education and Director of Financial aid attend. Is it vital that admissions representatives are in constant communication with the directors, in order to have the most up to date information.
Josefina,
Excellent practice. Thank you for your post.
Millie,
Excellent plan...keep up the good work!
Margie,
Outlook Calendar is a great suggestion!
Brandon,
The rules make sure that every student experience in Florida is ethical and good business.
Maria,
You are right on track! Keep on learning...
Meg,
You are off to a great start! Rules at CIE can be changed at any time during the year so checking regularly will keep you informed.
Taking this training has been a great way of learning the various Florida Statutes and Rules and regulation. In our department we have gather to review all rules and regulation with our DOA which it helps because the more you review something the more it sticks.
Besides reading and going through the module, honestly the Florida statutes, rules and regulations in regards to educational institutions, really boild down to a simple thing:
Do your job honestly, diligently and with a professional integrity. If you do this job to make money off of people, go sell a used car. The statutes and regulations don't encourage, but demand that you do this job because you honestly want to make a difference. Because you honestly want to change lives.
