I have printed and read all of the FL statutes links that have been posted throughout this training. They've been added to our Resource book. I've also added an appointment to my Outlook Calendar monthly to check the CIE site for updates.
Regular review of statutes, rules and regulations, repeated exposure through the enrollment process, and regular checks of the CIE website.
I have printed the Statutes and Rules and Regs and have included them in my Notebook. I read them constantly to be sure we follow them. I also check the web and CIE's newsletter and attend commission meetings. We meet regularly and discuss the regulations and tell our employees that they must be familiar with the Statutes and the Rules and Regs.
I have printed all of the statutes , Rules and Regulations that were offered thru this excellent course. I have placed them in my Resource Notebook and tabbed as CIE Statutes, Rules and Regulations. For us it is very important to check if these rules and regulations have changed, and it is the rsponsibility of the institution assigned staff to be on top of these changes. We have monthly meeting and I enter the CIE Commission website to keep me inform on updates and to inform the proper staff and share the required changes at the monthly meeting.
Lee,
For many situations, you can use the wording directly from Rule. Then, there is no question about compliance.
Errol,
Agreed! Sometimes we think we know the answer but having the resource available makes the answer correct.
Tamara,
Keeping up-to-date takes dedication and regular attention. Keep up the good work.
The best way for me is printing the statutes and rules from the CIE web site and reading them. It is goog to have them as reference materila since situations will arise where you will want to refresh your memory on some topics.
By actually READING the Rule 6E I was able to edit wording in our catalog, and realize the value of written procedures for students to follow in case of complaint or appeal
We are using many ways on keeping up to date with all the information in order to be in compliance for example: every 15 day of each month I have a reminder popping up telling me (FCIE Rules and Regulations Update) also visiting FDE and CIE website and last but not least participating in the forums keeps you up to date. also school director is always on direct contact with us other ones are schedule meetings.
I've been going through the FAPSC training thoroughly so I know the proper information and regulations in order to utilize them for Florida students.
Our Admissions office has a policy and procedure binder that is kept current on what we can do and not do, say and not say.
Mostly we get this information through our Registrar.
Although I have worked within the University environment for years, this is my first time dealing with the Admissions Process and its certainly more detailed than I'd imagined. First off, I am learning about the specifics through this training and reading the rules set forth by the Comission. Also, reading other Admissions Reps advice is certainly helpful too. Second, I am relating these rules with our University Catalog/Enrollment agreement to gain a further understanding of how these practices are supposed to be executed. Third and most importantly, I do a mock admissions process as if I were the student enrolling into the institution. This helps me gain a prospective from the students point of view.
Jason,
Excellent! Take a look at the rules and find the connections in your enrollment agreement and catalog. It is a good exercise in the application of the rules in Fair Consumer Practices.
Annette,
Excellent start! Keep on adding additional resources such as accrediting agencies and the state school association.
We are studying the valuable information your department shares with us, and reading and re-reading these to obtain an invaluable working knowledge of all the regulations, suggestions and shared data so we may be proficient in the data offered and provided. We're a bit surprised at all the information available and required, but never fear, we hope to be totally with the program as time passes. thanks!
We have weekly training meeting in which we go over the rules and regulations.
The rules and regulations are extremely vital to the admissions process as much as product knowledge, the I'm learning statutes, rules, and regulations by reading and studying and doing some of my own research online as well.
I have been reviewing the regulations that we printed out as part of our resource notebook and I have been regularly visiting the CIE and FAPSC websites to learn more.
