Review the Accreditation, Commission and DOE sites monthly. Cross train with other departments on a regular basis. Continual communication with CAD and discuss changes discovered with other employees in admissions in our weekly department meeting.
Mayra,
Every time that you do, you are gaining valuable experiential knowledge that you can share with the prospective students.
Patty Aronoff
I will continue talking with students, faculty members, career service directors, and visiting courses to obtain a better understanding of each program and keep up-dated.
Mayra Rivera
Yes I agree. We have weekly meeting with the teachers and staff and also started a monthly meeting with the students to go over any issues or problems that they may be experiencing as a whole.
Ms. Cascio
I like you insight as to what current and/or potential students may expect; that is getting their feedback on how our processes may improve and/or how better get the information to them. I find many times professors are not well informed and misguide their students as to what information they should relay. This may be whether information regarding registration and/or even course information.
I like it. Suggestions can be useful either way.
Happy New Year!
Jennifer,
Excellent! By reading the rules and checking your packets at the same time, you are gaining hands-on experience in compliance.
Patty Aronoff
As I have been going through this online training I have been making a lot of notes and checking our packets to make sure we have what we need.
Erika,
Program chairs are a wonderful resource. They are passionate about their programs and are current with information in the field.
Patty Aronoff
I would contact the Chairs to see if there is any updated information that I may have missed
Monica,
Keep on asking! Questions probe and discovery is learning. Make sure to keep the learning active.
Patty Aronoff
Yamile,
Keeping up-to-date takes effort! As soon as we let it slide, we run the risk of not being compliant.
Patty Aronoff
I will ask , ask, ask to my admission director, instructors and all the people who can give me useful information.
maintain direct contact with job developers, academic directors, and all the staffs in order to say the most clear informancion to prospective students.
Kirstie,
Good communication is vital to the institution. We are working toward the same goal, with the same student. It works so much better when we are together in the process.
Patty Aronoff
Courtney,
Knowing what brought your prospective student to your school is very important in establishing a rapport. We need to find out as much as we can about our students.
Patty Aronoff
Paul,
Great idea! You are providing an opportunity to learn in a relaxed environment.
Patty Aronoff
We have meetings with instructors, Director of Admission, and Director of Education on any changes that are made to the programs or institution. We stay up to date by communicating with them.
I will get more involved with the marketing department. This way, I can learn about what advertising they do and what, specifically, potential students are hearing about and what they are expecting. Plus, I would learn about potential new programs that the school might, eventually, offer.
Our school several months ago started a lunch-n-learn session. Each month a resident expert discusses a topic that is relevant to the staff in general. This helps train new employees and brings seasoned employees up-to-date with program additions and changes. Has been very effective.
James,
The resources within your school can help you and better serve your students. Try sitting in on classes and talking with current students to gain a new perspective.
