Our campus focuses on careers in the allied health field: these include therapeutic massage, x-ray medical technician-medical assistant, personal fitness training, estetician, hospital and health service management, and we are getting a vet tech program in the upcoming year! Having close relationships with career services helps get information on the jobs students trains for.
We offer X-ray Tech, Theraputic Massage, Esthetics, Personal Training, and Pharm Tech programs. I learn about our programs from teh course catalog, institution handbook, and from visiting the classrooms.
Linda,
That is where product knowledge is key. Understanding the programs and how they operate in the real world is important to be able to relate to your prospective student.

Miriam,
Try sitting in on a class. You will discover the student perspective from sitting in the class and learning from the instructor. You won't be disappointed.

It's amazing how misconceptions can cloud one's thought. Here's where the role of the admissions representative can set the story straight with proper product knowledge.

Learning about all the programs offered at our school is very importanat. You can not help advise the pontentialstudent find the right fit if you are not informed and up to date.
There is only one program offered in our institute. I will learn from the placement department.
That is absolutely correct. We teach Home Health Aide programs and a potential student thought "you only took care of "old" people. If the representative did not understand the program the potential student who was interested in the program would have missed her opportunity. Once she understood there were various types of Home Health Care opportunities / applications she was very comfortable to proceed with enrollment.
At our institution we train professional scuba divers. That bring people from different backgrounds; people that are burnout from other carriers and want a change and many other situations. Our main concern is to explain to our candidates how important safety and serious the profession is, and its not only dive, dive, dive. We are responsible to show the prospect candidate that fun comes with responsibility.
We only offer one program at our institution. It is a graduate program and we consider it unique...the best way for me to learn about the jobs is staying in contact with the graduates themselves. They often come back and talk to our graduate students letting them know what to expect in the "real world". Some very interesting questions come up and the graduates themselves are the best resource.
The Academy will offer restricted barber and cosmetology. The beginning of next year, we will implement more programs. In addition, we will interact with many of the barbershops and salons to help our students become employed. The academy does not guarantee employment.
We are offering Nursing Assistant and Practical Nursing.
The school has a Director of nursing; she is taking of all academic matters and also job placement.
