I agree. I have actually taken every single course our school offers. I am fortunate we offer shorter type courses where I am able to do this. So I can talk about the classrom work as well as all the hands-on experience gotten at an externship.
Admisions representatives/agents should not rely on verbal information given from any one person/s or department to educate or inform them about potential jobs. A vetted document publishing employment history should be the sole resource for information regarding potential jobs.
Rebecca,
Your institution certainly is specialized. How do you keep up with all the medical specialization?
Betsy,
Wonderful news! Students want to talk to people who really know the school and the industry. Check in with faculty or sit in on a class to gain more perspective.
Our institution is very specialized. We offer Master's level programs in medical physics, medical health physics and medial dosimetry. Medical Physics and Medical Dosimetry are key players in any Radiation Oncology department. Medical Health Physics is linked to Radiation Safety and Nuclear Medicine.
My school offers masters level courses in medical physics, medical dosimetry, and medical health physics. The best way I learn about the jobs students train for is speaking with the chief academic officer about different jobs in the field, what those jobs include, and what places offer those jobs. I also talk to current students about the jobs they currently have, so I understand where students are coming from and what education they already have before seeking training at my school.
Eduardo,
Providing your own personal experience is important. Prospective students want real life experiences to catch on to.
The program are cosmetology, skin care and manicure & pedicure, Full Specialist, Skin Care & Body Treatment, I have been working in this school for almost 8 years, and I have a great communication with Jobs placement , they give me a good information regarding job placement in each program, every day.
Ones of the best way is keep communication with a grad students to receive a feedback regarding their experience.
Some time Academic Director program a visit to an spa, or a beautysalon , to student and I have participate with this visits.
Pamela,
Another suggestion would be to visit some of the externship sites with the Externship Coordinator. You will get a real feel of the career the students are going into.
We offer programs that are healthcare related. The best way to learn the programs are to meet with the instructors who have work related experience in that particular field in addition to sitting in on some of the classes being taught!
Thomas,
I am sure your true interest in the programs shows when you speak with prospective students. It also transcends much about your institution. Exciting!
We offer technical training in the areas of automtive, motorcycle and marine. It happens I have a interest in all three.
Thomas,
I have learned so much from faculty, classes and the students themselves. It's a great idea to sit in and learn.
I actually go and sit in on courses offered. It is about knowing the product. It doesn't hurt that I have a interest in most of the courses provided. Any opportunities I have to participate in campus tours are also a plus. Every time I have taken a tour I have learned something new.
