I am an agent and I feel that this training has been very beneficial. I find that it is extremely important for me to remain up to date regarding marketing and new policies and changes. Because I am out of the office on a regular basis I need to make sure that I am only conveying 100% accurate information about my institution. However, I would always love more training if available.

Karen,
We are heling people change their lives. It's very exciting!

Steven, I totally agree with you. I don't feel that it's about selling. It's about educating the prospective student about your institution and it's programs completely and thoroughly so they can make an informed and intelligent decision about their future educational/career goals.

Millie,
Thank you for your post as it brings to light the importance of training and licensure.

When I started I was not aware of all the information that the Agent was supposed to know. Now I'm aware that the Agent has to be informed of CIE regulations, the school's regulations and the accrediting body regulations. I am now aware that the Agent is supposed conduct this or a similar training, and that he/she is to be kept updated on all changes in the organization; also that he/she is supposed to come to the meetings. I am now aware that the Agent is supposed to have a criminal background check which the agency pays for and the license lasts for one year at which time it must be renewed and CIE must be kept up to date on whether he resigns or is dismissed and he may be subject to denial, probation or revocation.

Jamie,
Having the resources available help us all do our job better.

There is alot of information available, so to know where to access it will help admissions reps be more of a valuable asset to their company. Having the resource book is a help because it can be utilized as a quick reference guide for questions or direction.

Ashley,
Thank you for the feedback. The Commission works hard on consumer protection.

I feel that I have a much better understanding about the working parts of what is required to obtain a FL agent's Lic. It is very intresting to understand the how and why of this training!

Reean,
Please feel free to share your ideas on the forums. We"ll be glad to learn from you as well.

I enjoyed the course and found it to be extremely beneficial. It has expanded my ideas as to how to retrieve even more information from other departments within the institution and things to ask them for in order to help make me more knowledgeable to better help/inform our prospective students.

Pedro,
We need to have a clear understanding in order to implement the rules and regs appropriately.

Damaris,
The legal aspects are vast. It is not just knowing the law but the reasoning behind it.

Cynthia,
Ecxcellent point! It takes a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Not everyone can do it well.

I believe it is important for all Admissions Reps to have a clear understanding as to the rules and regulations.

I was glad to learn some of the legal aspects of the job and what I need to be aware of that can hold me liable or responsible. Also, reading through some of the contract rules that are in the enrollment agreement. Couldn't help it! It's the law student in me!

I have a better appreciation for the amount of knowlege needed to turn a good Admissions rep into a great one. To show you care about the students you need the larger base of information on how to help them succeed.

Jay,
Thank you for your positive feedback. It is good to know that the learning will not stop with this course. Best wishes on your endeavors.

Compared to when I started this course, I have learned that there is definitely a lot more to know than I had previously thought. Also, there is a constant need to keep updated with changes in regulations and the industry in general. This course has been enlightening in that regard, and of great assistance in helping me set up my own database and Resource Notebook to stay updated in the ever-evolving world of admissions.

Antonio,
