Orientation
This is very important to the student. It will give them an understanding of the institution. It gives the students a chance to learn who's who at the instituion and meet and greet with them as well. It also gives them a chance to look around the institution again and get familiar with the classrooms, the learning resource center and the bathrooms!
Marlana,
Orientation is the beginning of the student experience beyond enrollment. The networking with other students is so valuable.

Most of our students are moving here from out of state and i think orientation is so important because it allows the students to become familar with their surroundings here at school. It also allows them to meet other class mates that are starting the same day as them!!
Joanna,
Orientation is such s big day. It's the first big step beyond the enrollment.
show how commited are the student by coming the first day of there Orentations..
Shauna,
Orientation is such a great time! It is the first activity in education.
The new student orientation is very important because it gives the student an opportunity to learn more about where everything is in the institution along with learning familiar faces and determining were resources are that are needed.
Martha,
Orientation is such a great event. We like to have them start off with confidence.
I believe is extremely important for the future student to be part of orientation. This will give them an insight of the location.
Jennifer,
Orientation is a celebration in advance!
Blanca,
Orientation should be fun. We have trivia contests and games. It helps to relax in a new environment.
We make our orientation fun, informational and eye opening. That way we cover everything that the students need to know without it being boring.
Orientation is great for the students its when they can get the resources and tools to be successful and also meet all the faculty. I always enjoy our Orientations.
Janet,
Orientation is the hand-off from Admissions to Education. A very exciting time for all.
This is the day that students get to feel students for the first time. Is as important as the first interview.
Hiliary,
Having mentors assigned to each student is a great idea, keeping the personalized approach active beyond the initial orientation.
I completely agree! The student has to be properly introduced & feel comfortable in their new institution. This is also a great way for them to meet people/other new students.
For many years we have done mass orientations and assumed they were sufficient. Recently we had come to understand that in our orientations students are overwhelmed with information that both pertains to them and information that doesn't. We are developed a plan to personalize the orientation by using mentors or guides who introduce them to staff and departments in a measured approach and who guides them in the future if they need to be oriented or reoriented to the services we are able to proceed. Please note that this supplements our traditional orientation process.
This is something Financial Planning at our Campus has discussed and are going to implement. I think this is great and I look forward to participating.
Elaine,
Many schools are using this opportunity to talk about debt repayment and the importance of meeting your financial obligations long past graduation.
