Mara,
Meetings are key to teamwork and learning from each other. Be active in yours.

I attend the Commission meetings as often as I can (at least twice a year). These meetings are a great place to learn about "hot topics" for the commission as well as trends in the industry.
Any meeting that I can possibly find to keep up to date, and be the best I can be at my job I will attend. My director will keep me up to date as well to inform me of any meeting he or our school will hold.
At our school we have weekly staff meetings, so we can hear updates on students, jobs, and information about the school.
We hold weekly meeting to stay up to date!
I attend a weekly manager meeting with my campus director and attend a weekly Director's meeting with my national admissions director.
We have a weekly staff mtg in which the agenda consists of updates, news, accomploshments. etc.
Mary,
Technology has certainly bridged the gap in getting people together.

Chanquinta,
Very good plan! Keep on learning!

cheryl,
You should have meetings within your organization. Commission meetings are held every two months. Information on their times and location can be found at the CIE website under agenda information.
Patty Aronoff
Jonathan,
Use these opportunities to continue to learn and share your knowledge and expertise.
Patty Aronoff
Joselyn,
Student orientation is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the students in a different setting and hear their questions before starting classes.
Patty Aronoff
Amanda,
Continuing education is required by rule and should be part of growth plans for all employees.
Patty Aronoff
Patrick,
Excellent! Meetings keep us all on the same page and provide us additional learning opportunities.

cheryl,
The Commission for Independent Education is your regulatory body in the state of Florida. They license your institution for operation and procide the rules that you operate by. The meetings are held every two months in central Florida with an occasional meeting in south Florida. You can watch the meetings through the Commission's website.

I attend meetings via Go To Meeting and Webinar for my Institution. We use webcams and type in questions and answers so all can view if they do not have a webcam. Very convenient. All documents are sent via email perior to the meeting so the discussion begins immediately.
I attend any meeting I'm available to attend. I ask the director questions periodically and always keep a notebook handy.
we have no meetings where I work, I was wondering what Commisson Meetings(?) people where going to in their area.?
cheryl
We have Admissions Monthly meeting on the latest tools and procedures. I find them to be very helpful.
I attend all staff and faculty meetings so that I can stay up to date with everyone. I even attend student orientation to listen to questions and concerns that may come up.
