The Agent's Requirements

What are your thoughts and feelings about the Agent's requirements now that you have almost finished this course, compared to when you started?

In the begining of my postition I was a BDR, which does recruit.  However my position has since changed to more of a community outreach focus.   I feel that this is all really great information to have, however, more guidance on the community outreach and getting our community and campus united in the same goal of serving our students would be nice as well.

Agreed.

True statement, often times experiences agents get lost in the sales and forget to keep themselves abreast of the changes in education. Training is never wasted no matter how long one has been in the business !!!

I like the reference, "an agent is a moving target" because that has more truth in it than anything else said about an agent. Great Insight !!!

One of the main jobs of an agent is to stay update on all changes with the school, current knowledge is what will make the agent successful or not. Prospective students do not want someone who does not have the answers to their questions, it makes you look not prepared but definitely unprofessional. The agent must keep their resource book up to date.

It is very important to have these requirements to stay compliant

Learning something new everyday!

I think that the agent requirements are fair, we are not just sales people we are helping someone potentailly change their entire life. Being moral and knowing everything about your school is imperative.

Prior to taking this course, I was not aware of the requirements for Admissions Rep. (I am a high school presenter for my college, not an Admissions Rep.) Now that I have finished the course, I am certainly more knowledgeable concerning the rules and regulations that govern Admissions Departments. This is a very well designed course.

I think it's reasonable and inportant for us to have an understanding of each topic that we have discussed. Good stuff!

An Agent needs to need be up-to-date on all areas of the school to regulations. They need to provide students with accurate information so they can make an informed decision.

It seems that as an agent, I am the main source of general information in the program, and can refer my students to other departments as needed. It is my responsibility to make sure the student is not receiving any false information.

I feel it is an agent's top priority to regularly retrain and review policies, procedures, catalog, and all regulatory requirements. Our environment is ever-changing and it is our responsibility to take ownership of understanding and refreshing our knowledge on all requirements.

I agree. We can tend to fall into the pattern of doing things in the repetitious manner and having the refresher available to review makes us aware of those things we need to adjust to conduct an effective interview. It's important to keep up to date on the changes that may come through.

Because things change so frequently, being an agent is a constant learning process.

Well, at first it was slightly overwhelming. However, once you really dig into everything, you find that it's not nearly as intimidating as you initially thought. I am very EXCITED to get going and see my enrollment numbers SOAR!!!!

Many of these requirements were expected and common sense.

I feel there are certainly alot more regulations that what I had anticipated, but now realize how vital and important they are!

I didn't realize the importance of the requirements when I started, but now I have a better grasp on what is required of myself and other agents.

I feel that the agent is an integral part to an institution and is obligated to be educated on the various policies that are required by the state.

These requirements are necessary and an important part of the student and staff relationship.
