I think the resource notebook is a great tool and I would not have given it much thought before this course.

While yes as an Admissions Representative it is required by the OACCS that you keep up with the policies, regulations and guidelines that affect the institution you work for, however, even if it was not required I feel it is absolutely necessary. Rules and regulations are not set in stone. They are constantly evolving or changing. As a representative of a college, we need to ensure we stay up to date with everything, as it will directly affect prospective students. We should absolutely be held responsible for knowing this information. We need to be providing accurate information, as we should not be misleading a prospective student, because their decision to attend a college is a legally binding contract, and they have the right to be given accurate, factual information regarding a major decision that can affect their future.

Now having almost completed the requirements I feel a lot more at ease with compliance. A lot of the information was common sense but not all of the requirements were that well known.

I thinks it's a great checks and balances system for the proprietary education sector.

A resource notebook will help me feel confortable talking with students since I have a fail-safe to lean back in times of need.

Initially I felt somewhat overwhelmed by the volume of regulatory information and statutes listed with the Ohio Revised Code, but at this point in the course it seems to me mainly common sense.

I feel it almost a must at this point that I understand more about the programs that we offer. I may not be the person actually enrolling the student, but having us sound a little more intelligent while speaking to the students couldn't be a bad thing.

I totally agree with you. this resource notebook, is going to be so useful to me, and I will feel so much more comfortable talking with students.

While the requirements make sense, it is a lot of information to digest. I like how clear and concise everything is presented and that each module contains a follow up quiz, as I feel it helps me to retain the information better.

I feel the reqauirements have changed from past years some what, but the binder, makes it helpful to assist with learning with the new laws.

This course is a great refresher course as well as a course to point out new material, if we did not know some of the material beforehand. It is important to be ethical, knowledgeable and upfront with the students regarding all aspects for their admission.

Coming in to this new, there is a lot of information. There are some things that seem common sense, and some information that was invaluable.

The Agent has a much more important job than I first realized. Being an Agent is important to the success of the Institution as well as to giving the information to the students. Students need Agents for information and someone to turn to for questions to be answered.

I worked in admissions at a non-profit and recently transfered to admissions in a for-profit school. The non-profit was compliant but did not make it a point for representatives to understand state requirements because they were built into the training program. The for-profit is keen on having the admission representative understand and take individual responsibility to enforce the state requirements. Much of the information and requirements are something I would naturally cover in a new student appointment. But, after reviewing the information in detail I will be able to cover in detail the compliance portions. It will be easier for me to ensure that the student is aware of the institutions and individual rights and responsibilities moving forward in their academic program.

I started in the industry right when the regulations became tightened. I understand why students need the information and I agree that people need to make an educated decision about their future. It is one of the most expensive decisions in your life and you should have all the information available to you to make that decision. I do have to say that as a consumer people need to be a bit more accountable to educate themselves. Society has become lazy and it would be great if people took a more proactive route in their education and their future. I look back at when I first attended college I was not educated as well as I should have been and since I got in the industry I have made it a point to make sure people are educated. So, this course has just solitified the things I have been doing since the begining.

Considering I'm new to being an agent, I knew there would be a lot to it, but I wasn't expecting as much as there was. However, it's all fairly logical and straightforward, so it's not like any of it is hard to process. The most important thing for me to do is operate with a high ethical standard and familiarize myself with all of the elements while keeping myself up to date in order to offer the best service possible to my students.

While now entering my second year of college admissions, I find that the information provided in this course was useful as a refresher. While it is a good refresh, it instills confidence in my abilities and I can reassure myself I am knowledgable in my field. It also lets me know that since a lot of this information has already been passed down either in training or regular departmental meetings, that the school does a great job letting the employee know these requirements up front before even having to take this course.

I found this course useful.

It is important to maintain ethical standards and values as an admissions agent.

I also am a newly hired agent and I am currently going through my training. I really never realized how vital the agents are in presenting so much information and have a much clearer understanding now of what is required! Great course!!

I am new to this position and feel that the requirements in place will make sure that our team is prepared to provide as much information as possible to the leads that we receive. This adds credibility to the admissions department and the school as a whole.
