In my opinion the agent requirements are about what I thought they would be. Being conscious about what is going on internally and externally is beneficial for the students. Also knowing where to go about information is equally important with keeping up to date on rules and regulations to remain compliant.

I definitely feel empowered and confident that the importance of these courses are not to make your job harder, but to make your job, your success that much easier.

This is a great clarification about what the job duties as defined by the OACCS consist of. Of course, every employer has additional desires, requests, etc, but a solid foundation is always welcome.

I agree. Sometimes we fall into a pattern of doing things on "Automatic" and need a refresher to help get us in the right frame of mind to motivate the students. It could really make the difference in an effective presentation!

Im grateful for the information regarding the requirements and also the resources in which I can rely upon to fulfill those requirements!

Having trained/worked for a few weeks prior to taking this course, there were topics covered that I already knew of, but MANY topics that were new and interesting.

My biggest takeaway is the Resource Notebook. I had already started one on my own, and know I know how important it is and will complete it and keep it up to date!

My thought and feelings coincides with my replies to your question in Forum 3: We are the face of our school - potential students depend on our product knowledge and us being forthright in our approach to delivering accurate and compliant info to perspective students. Gathering information that will be beneficial to potential students should be never ending.

I feel that there is a lot of information that you have to study and stay abreast on as an agent. It seems as if the agents have the most important job since they are the first people that prospective students come in contact with so they have to really know a lot of information and be accurate in what they tell the prospective students.

Though we as representatives and people who care about higher education should always work in the light, I think that having the State Board keeping people in check is important.

Obviously the students deserve correct and pertinent information!

i believe that it is important to have these guidelines in order to stay in compliance, protecting yourself as well as the school.

Now, I have full checklist what to do and how to do.....this training helped me lot.
Specially, the notebook and also the terminology.

I have found that the resource notebook has been a great tool to review from time to time to help remind me of small regulations that are easily forgotten.

I know that sometimes it seems tedious having requirements like this, but all in all I'm glad that there is a course like this in place. It helps keep admissions professionals on their toes and helps keep the focuse on students first.

My feelings are largely the same. I knew coming into this, that there would be many rules and regulations. Things to say and not to say. Knowing to listen and repond and give current clear and concise information to better serve the people we meet. We are about service and making things happen, the information provided gives us the guidlnes to do so.

The requirements are not too extensive. If the agent provides all the information necessary to the prospective student then they have met the majority of the requirements. Which includes all disclosures, fees/tuition, and all paperwork.

I think this course has been a great tool that gives me a lot more overall information and shows me where i can access the state requirement information. I do feel overall more knowledgeable having completed this course.

I actually have always felt that it is the agent's responsibility to own their personal knowledge on all of the topics we have discussed in the course thus far. One thing that hasn't really been touched upon yet is the agent's level of empathy and listening skills. Though these are not tactile points that are easy to test, they are important traits in other to be an effective, understanding, ethical liaison between a school and the potential student.

The Agent requirements are a great tool to ensure an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities, policies, guidelines, and expectations. It serves as a strong checks and balance system for the Admissions Rep., which will safeguard against practices that might prove detrimental to the student in the long run.

I believe that the requirements match what I was lead to believe they would be when I was doing training at my insitution. I feel very comfortable with everything up to this point.

I think it is great an agent has to take this course! This is all important information they will need to know while being an agent.
