I have a better understanding of the over all things that need to be covered by a agent to the possible future student. I agree that having a reference note book as a back up is priceless and very useful for those quick but important questions that will be asked.
I have a much better understanding of my role as an admissions agent. As well as, a better understanding about keeping my knowledge up to date as things change in the college.
I was familiar with most from my prior experience, but still found information I had not known before. I am grateful for the opportunity.
I consider it my responsibility to conduct myself in the most professional, ethical and morale manner everyday. Agent's change people lives. Our obligations are focused on the student's needs. Conducting yourself in this manner enables us to provide a social good.
Although I have worked in Admissions for numerous years, it is always important to review the requirements and regulations to ensure that we stay compliant and effective. I feel that I was already aware of most of the requirements, but there are nuances that are different from state to state.
Even though I have been in Admissions for 9 years I always enjoy reviewing what I know and learning what I don't. The only thing in this industry that seems to be constant is change. Always learning, a good thing...
I feel the Agent's requirements and responsibilities are extremely important to the success of the school as a whole. Their input will reflect the type of student that ultimately enrolls, the acceptance and success of the programs offered, the success of employment after students finish their programs and finally the overall success of the school itself. In a nut shell, with a great agent you get students properly slated for their program, great future employees and a strong future for the academic institution.
Agent Requirements and their regulations are much more involved than I originally beleived. Originally, I didn't kno they were state mandated.
I have worked as an agent for a number of years and I always find it a good refresher to review this information and have the opportunity to catch up on something that I may have overlooked and need to review for updates and general reminders.
Agreed, this training is very helpful for those of us who rely heavily on checklists. It has spurred me onto creating and implementing checklists in other areas such as teh application, etc.
There are so many rules and regulations to remember that sometimes it seems a bit overwhelming. Even while an Army Recruiter there were set rules and regulations to follow but perhaps they seemed easier to follow, understand and learn because I had already been a soldier for 10 years. Is there an easy way to understand all the regs in a short amount of time?
I have very strong thoughts and feelings about this course. They are different now than when I started the course. I'm sure a lot of agents feel the same way I do, especially now that the course is over.
I am happy to say that as a new employee I was given the information. This training just dug in into more detail and I am very glad that this information was available to me prior to meeting with potential students.
The agents requirements are vitally important to what is discussed with a prospective student. I am glad that I have learned as much as I have.
I definitely feel more competent as well as confident now that I have gone through the modules. I knew there are rules and regulations set by an licensing body but some of the things I read through in the modules I was unaware of; such as, as simple as it is, I was unaware that schools were held to standards and requirements when it came to their catalogs, enrollment forms, etc. I also had an idea of what the do's and don't's were but now I am fully aware and I'm happy to know because I would never want to jeopardize any student's future, nor, my own career.
There is a lot more involved besides recruiting and enrolling students that go along with this position, I have to say I am surprised. I knew there was a lot that goes into this role, but I didn't realize how much.
I have a much clearer understanding and am glad to have gained valuable knowledge that will help with my position.
It is feel that it is important learning more about the Agent's requirements because it keeps me informed about various regulations governing my school. With this in mind it will help with my overall ability as a Admissions Representative.
I really thought I was going to get all the information that I needed from the Director of Admissions. Now I know that that will never be enough. I will have to sit and talk with almost everyone in the building to get a good idea of what everyone does in order to give my prospective students all the correct and well informed information.
When I started I was focused only on "our" agent requirements pertaining to "our" school - it is more comprehensive but filled with knowledge.
