Hello
I incorporate all the styles in my classes. Our schedules are very fast pace. I would like to know all learning styles but time does not permit for proper evaluation. I try to have a mixture of projects, textbook, power points in the class to encompas all styles. Is this right or wrong?

I believe the largest barrier to having success in the classroom and connecting with each one of your students is not understanding their specific learning style. I've seen many students struggle at the beginning of a semester, and, after learning their learning style and adjusting my instructional style, seen their performance increase substantially.
If an instructor understands the learning styles of his/her students then the material presented can be presented in a variety of ways to reach all style of learners. The more you reach the more they learn.
Knowing the styles will allow you to uderstand you students. The styles is all part of differential education and being able to reach all students. When giving asignments you have to take this into considation becasue some student will get through it with no to very little help and on the hand a may take 2 hours to complete it.
Hi Sarah, My very best wishes for success in your teaching career!

As a new instructor I hope to be able to convey the topic and deliver the information in a way that the students understand. By understanding their learning style I can either make a powerpoint, show a video, or have a hands on activity for them. With a variety of delivery, I hope to reach every student efficiently.
knowing the learning styles of your students is beneficial in that it will heko you form you lesson plas and delivery methods based on how the students actually process information. Every lesson should include all of the different preferred learning styles to ensure complete comprehension from every student regardless of students learning style.
Hi Leslie, Thanks for your post to the forum. That is a good mix of delivery options! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I try to gear my courses with visual, lecture and structured writing to cover all learner types.
I get to know the student's learning style. this makes it easier to instruct them.
Hi Kerry, Thanks for your post to the forum. That is really the best way to approach teaching to the learning styles. If we work to vary our delivery as much as possible we do a great job for our students. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

By knowing your students' learning sytles, it should help you to tailor your class time to affect the different styles of learners. IF I know I have to do a class on the history of nursing, I may discuss it first, show some pictures of historical figures, and maybe pass around antique stethoscopes or glass syringes.
If I know how my students learn best, I can make my lesson plans around that style or styles of learning. You can't teach all of them at the same time, of course, but you can mix it up and get good results from allowing the students to learn in their own stlyes.
Knowing each student's learning style is a win-win for all who are involved in the teaching-learning experience. The effectiveness of the teacher to deliver and transfer the information taught by reaching out to all students' way of processing the information with high percentage of retention satisfies both teacher and students. Objectives of the lesson plan are being achieved at a faster pace.
Hi Rochelle, Thanks for your post to the forum. You are using a dynamic mix of content in your classroom! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

Knowing the various learning styles of my students can give my teaching methods some dynamism as I attempt to integrate various forms of teaching into the classroom setting. I integrate a lot of videos, ice breakers and even social media to cater to the different learning styles of my students, and so far they have proven very effective in content delivery.
So that I am teaching to the preferred learning style of my students. I need to meet them where they are at and how they learn best. The more variety of styles I learn to use in my teaching style, the more effective I will be.
